INTRODUCTION SINCE [as is well known] many have undertaken to put in order and draw up a [thorough] narrative of the surely established deeds which have been accomplished and fulfilled in and among us, Exactly as they were handed down to us by those who from the [official] beginning [of Jesus' ministry] were eyewitnesses and ministers of the Word [that is, of the doctrine concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God], It seemed good and desirable to me, [and so I have determined] also after having searched out diligently and followed all things closely and traced accurately the course from the highest to the minutest detail from the very first, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, [My purpose is] that you may know the full truth and understand with certainty and security against error the accounts (histories) and doctrines of the faith of which you have been informed and in which you have been

orally instructed. Luke 1:1-4. The Gospel According to Luke is one of my favorites because of the detailed reporting of the events and happenings around the life and ministry of Jesus Christ our dear Lord. It narrates the life of Jesus from the womb to the tomb and beyond that, is His resurrection. Beyond this narrative is the Book of Acts that records the ascension of Christ and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit through the apostles. Lukes account was well researched. It was a collation of eyewitness reports and testimonies. The testimony of an eyewitness is always very powerful in any court of law. The testimonies you will read will dissolve every iota of doubt in your heart. This book you hold today, is not just the report of many eyewitnesses. Yes, you will find the true stories of eyewitnesses from the scriptures. It is the testimony and true account of a man who has been in practical ministry for more than twenty years in four continents of the world. I have had to learn most of the truths you will read in this book while exercising myself in the gift and calling of God upon my life. The city of Warri and many other villages around it formed the training ground for my personal discovery and exercise of these truths. I can take you to several spots in the city of Warri where my team and I encountered juju priests and shrines. I cannot count how many juju houses that were shut down as a result of the preaching of the gospel through my street preachings, open-air crusades and mass evangelistic outreaches. I remember one night encounter with a juju priest. Before we went out that night, I was studying the book of Nahum when a revelation exploded my being. It was so explosive that I literally felt Someone rising inside of me. Even though I was five foot plus in height, I sensed this mighty One rising like an edifice inside of me. It was a real experience. This revelation changed me completely that night. Unknown to me, the Holy Spirit was getting me ready for the exploits of that night. An experience will prepare you for exploits. Whatever experience you are going through right now is getting you prepared for your next exploit. Your exploit is for the benefit and experience of those to whom you have been assigned.

We are in deep trouble for bringing you God's comfort and salvation. But in our
trouble God has comforted us--and this, too, to help you: to show you from our personal experience how God will tenderly comfort you when you undergo these same sufferings. He will give you the strength to endure. 2 Cor. 1:6,7. (The

Living Bible). My team members were composed of young men like me that I had gotten saved and conscripted into Gods army for the purpose of expanding the kingdom of God by the force of the simple proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That night, we stormed a street that had three juju worship going on. As I preached, I stood before the first one and cursed their gods. There was no confrontation. We proceeded to the second one. We were confronted just a little to scare the devil out of them. The last one was the biggest of them. At this time, I was no longer in charge of myself. I was taken over by the Holy Ghost. At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come mightily upon you and you will prophesy with them, and you will feel and act like a different person. I Sam. 10:6. (The Living Bible). As I preached, the priest came out to put me away. My boys were scared because as at then they had not yet received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. They wanted us to leave but I was on a mission. At one point, before a gathering crowd, the priest went into his shrine and came against me with his double barrel gun. At close range he tried to kill me but I was drunk in the Holy Ghost. So drunk that no bullet could touch me. Under that unction, like David ran towards Goliath, I ran after this priest into his shrine and spoke a word over his life. Two weeks later, he died. Later, all three shrines died. They are no longer in existence.

When the Philistine came forward to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. I Sam. 17:48. That was in 1984. Since then, this gospel has taken me to many villages in Nigeria and many other parts of the world in four continents so far. We have seen the demonstration of the mighty power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have seen the demonstration of the truths you will read in this book by the power of the Holy Spirit our Master Director. And my language and the Message that I proclaimed were not adorned with persuasive words of earthly wisdom, but depended upon truths which the Spirit taught and mightily carried home; So that your trust might rest not on the wisdom of man but on the power of God. 1 Cor. 2:4,5. (Weymouth Translation). My passion in writing this book is try as I can to answer the many questions people ask about demons that certain few have misled many. The questions remain unanswered. It is the same question that the Ethiopian eunuch asked Philip. Accordingly Philip, running up to him, heard [the man] reading the prophet Isaiah and asked, Do you really understand what you are reading? And he said, How is it possible for me to do so unless someone explains it to me and guides me [in the right way]? And he earnestly requested Philip to come up and sit beside him.. Acts 8:30,31. As you read, do let me guide you to understand the world of demons and how you can deal with them. As you read, something will light up in you that will eventually light up your world. Your light will shine and no darkness will be able to withstand it. His life is the light that shines through the darkness-and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5. (The Living Bible). You will never remain the same again!

CHAPTER ONE THE REALITY OF DEMONS As I travel around the world, I find in great amazement the struggles people go through as a result of demonic activities. Many western civilizations have berated them to an African superstitution or myth. With the invasion of Harry Potter, many young people in the western world are in grave danger of demonic operations. The results are very obviously manifested in the widespread insanity, immorality and iniquity. The Devil is no longer hiding under a mask. It is no longer a secret society or practice. The reality of the Devil and his demon cohorts at work in broad daylight is very evident in our world today. Demons are not a figment of the imagination of some fanatic Christians. They are not mere superstition or myth configured by some to scare people. They are not an African thing. They are in Asia, Europe, America, Australia and anywhere you can think of in this world we live in. They are real. They control people and places. And [the angel] said to me, O Daniel, you greatly beloved man, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright, for to you I am now sent. And while he was saying this word to me, I stood up trembling. Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind and heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come as a consequence of [and in response to] your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes, came to help me, for I remained there with the kings of Persia. Daniel 10:11-13. From the above scripture, you can see that these celestial beings are called princes. When the word, prince, was used for human beings or personalities, it means a male member of a royal family or the greatest or the best or first among others. Adam was a prince because he was the first man. Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality 1 Cor. 15:45.

Abraham was called a mighty prince because he was captain of his own trained army who at one time rescued his nephew Lot in Genesis 14. And the Hittites replied to Abraham, Listen to us, my lord; you are a mighty prince among us. Gen. 23:5,6. God called Jacob a prince when his name was changed to Israel. Jacob actually fought for it. That is to say that the title can be earned. Jacob fought and prevailed. God called him a prince with power. Gen. 32:28. Abner was captain of Sauls army. Abner died as a prince. 2 Sam. 2:8. 3:37,38. You can see that a prince can be by birth, battle or bestowal. Was the prince of Persia a human being? When the word, prince, was used for celestial beings, it refers to one that ruled over a people or a place. It also refers to a principal over a place or people or one that has power over a people or a place. It could also be used for one assigned to a person for a purpose or one on a mission. Gabriel, the angel sent by God, was not a human being even though angelic beings can take on the form and personality of human beings in order to carry out their functions. Angel Gabriel took on the voice of a man and the appearance of a man. That was why Daniel was able to relate to him. When I, even I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it; then behold, there stood before me one [Gabriel] with the appearance of a man. And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the [river] Ulai which called and said, Gabriel, make this man [Daniel] understand the vision. Dan. 8:15,16. Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the former vision, being caused to fly swiftly, came near to me and touched me about the time of the evening sacrifice. Dan. 9:21. This same Gabriel many centuries later appeared to Zechariah and Mary. As a prince, this angel was sent from God to a specific city of Galilee called Nazareth to specific persons. And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing at the right

side of the altar of incense. And the angel replied to him, I am Gabriel. I stand in the [very] presence of God, and I have been sent to talk to you and to bring you this good news. Now in the sixth month [after that], the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named Nazareth, To a girl never having been married and a virgin engaged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, a descendant of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:11,19,26,27. The prince was on a specific assignment to a specific geographical location and to specific personalities. This is to connote that a prince can be a celestial being on assignment. The prince of Persia couldnt have been a human being since he fought with an angelic being in the heavenlies. It was not an earthly battle. The prince of Persia was a demonic being in control of the kingdom of Persia. It was a principality with a mandate to keep good things from happening in the kingdom of Persia. This was why he withstood the angel Gabriel from delivering the answer to Daniels prayer. When Daniel prayed, in answer to his prayer, the Lord sent the angel Gabriel. While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God-Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the former vision, being caused to fly swiftly, came near to me and touched me about the time of the evening sacrifice. He instructed me and made me understand; he talked with me and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give you skill and wisdom and understanding. At the beginning of your prayers, the word [giving an answer] went forth, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision. Dan. 9:20-23. The prince of Persia may have been assigned to stop Gabriel from delivering answered prayers to Daniel. This resulted in a battle in the heavenlies between Gabriel and the prince of Persia. The Bible tells us about a war in heaven.

"Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought. But they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer. And the huge dragon was cast down and out--that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him." Rev. 12:7-9. This was a real battle that took place in the heavenlies. It was this same angel Michael who led his own army of angels to war against the Devil and his angels. Michael intervened for Daniel. As a result of that victory, Gabriel was able to deliver his message to Daniel and returned to continue the fight. "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes, came to help me, for I remained there with the kings of Persia. Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the [hostile] prince of Persia; and when I have gone, behold, the [hostile] prince of Greece will come." Daniel 10:13,20. These princes are real spirits. They could not have been human personalities appearing and disappearing in times that span several centuries. In one of the temptations of Jesus, the Devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world which he, Satan, claimed were delivered to him. "Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory (the splendor, magnificence, preeminence, and excellence) of them." Matt. 4:8. "Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time [ in the twinkling of an eye]. And he said to Him, To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and

grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will." Luke 4:5,6. These kingdoms were not imaginary. They were real places on this earth. A kingdom is a realm or region of a ruler or king. It is the domain of a king. Since the world was divided into realms or regions, they have been ruled by rulers, kings, principalities. The titles have changed over the years and from region to region. For each region where there is a human prince or king or principal or ruler, the devil assigns a prince or ruler. In Persia, there was a human king and there was a celestial prince or ruler. "IN THE third year of Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed to Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar. And the word was true and it referred to great tribulation (conflict and wretchedness). And he understood the word and had understanding of the vision. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes, came to help me, for I remained there with the kings of Persia." Dan. 10:1,13. Jesus called Satan the prince of this world. "Now the judgment (crisis) of this world is coming on [sentence is now being passed on this world]. Now the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world shall be cast out (expelled)." John 12:31. "I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.] But [ Satan is coming and] I do as the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know (be convinced) that I love the Father and that I do only what the Father has instructed Me to do. [I act in full agreement with His orders.] Rise, let us go away from here." John 14:30,31. "About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon

him."

As the prince of this world, he took rulership when Adam surrendered it to Satan in the Garden of Eden. Adam was the first man on earth. "Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]." 1 Cor. 15:45. As the first man, he was the best, the chief and prince of this world. When Eve was deceived and Adam transgressed the law of God, he surrendered his rulership of this world to Satan. From that point on Satan became the god of this world. Man was the god of this world until he surrendered to Satan. "GOD STANDS in the assembly [of the representatives] of God; in the midst of the magistrates or judges He gives judgment [as] among the gods. I said, You are gods [since you judge on My behalf, as My representatives]; indeed, all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die as men and fall as one of the princes." Psa. 82:1,6,7. Man's rebellion in the Garden of Eden plunged humanity into the world of darkness where Satan rules. Man became subject to Satan's dominion when he listened to and obeyed Satan in the Garden of Eden. You are a servant to whom you obey. Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness (right doing and right standing with God)? Rom. 6:16. "For Adam was first formed, then Eve; And it was not Adam who was deceived, but [the] woman who was deceived and deluded and fell into transgression." 1 Tim. 2:13,14. Satan became the god of this world. He is also called the prince of the power of the air. This prince controls people by making them rebel against the truth, disobey God's commandments and societal values that are rooted in God's nature. It also dulls or numbs the minds of people so that they will not believe and receive the truth of God's word.

"For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God." 2 Cor. 4:4. "In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God's] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind." Eph. 2:2,3. For many years, all the Naval installations in Nigeria were named after demonic deities like Okemini, Akaso, etc. These were demonic spirits that controled the places where the Nigerian Navy had their operational or training bases. According to the history I gathered, before these installations were built, the juju priest of that area to the deity was consulted to offer sacrifices to the spirits. This was done to avoid any negative repercussion from the spirits. As these bases were built, every year the Commanding Officer or Naval representative would employ the services of the juju priest to offer sacrifices to appease the spirits. In fact, the costs of these sacrifices were part of the budget for the Navy.

But thank God for the power of the gospel that has so penetrated every facet of our social, political and military life today. We have had many sound Christian Commanding Officer's who have changed this. This year the names of all the Naval bases have been changed. To God be the glory! Not only are demons in control of places, they are also in control of people. See what the passage below tells us.

THEY CAME to the other side of the sea to the region of the Gerasenes. And as soon as He got out of the boat, there met Him out of the tombs a man [under the power] of an unclean spirit. This man continually lived among the tombs, and no one could subdue him any more, even with a chain; For he had been bound often with shackles for the feet and handcuffs, but the handcuffs of [light] chains he wrenched apart, and the shackles he rubbed and ground together and broke in pieces; and no one had strength enough to restrain or tame him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always shrieking and screaming and beating and bruising and cutting himself with stones. Mark 5:1-5. This man was under the power of an unclean spirit. It was a real experience. It was not a myth or superstitution. I know a friend who gave his life to Christ and decided to get married. He was wedded to this beauty. This woman was a smashing beauty and a graduate of one of our premier university. The night after their wedding, she declared to him that the church was no longer her church. They were married in the same church. Some weeks later, my friend and I visited them. By this time, the man was living in his guest room because he was afraid that his wife would kill him. According to him, one day when the spirits came on her, she pulled out the door of the house with the hinges together. Naturally, this woman could not have done that. But she was under the power of some unclean spirit. Many people try to ignore the realities of demons and their devastating activities. But they are not the things you can ignore and sleep well. Most communities, cities and countries are going through crisis and devastation because of strong demonic activities. The devastation of HIV/AIDS, poverty, corruption, violence, killings, etc, in most places are the results of demonic activities. Many people are suffering today because of strong demonic manipulations. Most cases of divorce and separation are demonic. Some sicknesses are demonic. You will soon find that out as you continue to read. The point is ignoring demons will put you in a state where they can control your life. The

wisest thing to do is to learn about demons and deal with them properly. There are also Christians who give demons so much power that you think they are very powerful. The basic reason why the devil and his demons still intimidate many Christians is due to lack of knowledge. Lack of knowledge of your rights in a civil society will make you vulnerable to all kinds of intimidation from wicked law enforcement agents. Lack of knowledge destroys faster than cancer. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge Hosea 4:6. The knowledge of what happened at the cross more than 2000 years ago. That was where Jesus stripped the devil of all the powers he stole from Adam in the Garden of Eden. The truth is that Satan had power. This power was stolen from Adam in the Garden of Eden. Jesus came in fulfillment of prophecy to destroy the works of the Devil and deliver mankind from the power of Satan. Jesus bruised the head of Satan at the cross. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel. Genesis 3:15. God declared His eternal plan in that scripture after Adam sinned. Gods plan was for Jesus to bruise the head of Satan in due time. It did not stop at that. He went on to say that Jesus was going to tread on the Devils head. Now this really happened 4,000 years later. Now the judgment (crisis) of this world is coming on [sentence is now being passed on this world]. Now the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world shall be cast out (expelled). John 12:31. The ruler of this wicked world also called the evil genius and prince of this world was judged by what Jesus Christ our dear Lord did to Satan on the cross. Every legal decree and demands the Devil had in operation against you, your family, business, job, ministry, church, etc, has been completely destroyed by Jesus Christ on the cross.

Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]. Colossians 2:14,15. Today, the devil and his demons go about with a bruised and battered head. Headship is the place of power and control. Jesus destroyed Satans power and control over your life. If you know the things you are about to read in this book and you work them out in your life, you will be a master to Satan and his demons. The devil and his demons will become slaves to you. You will take charge over their works and operations around your life, family, marriage, business, church, ministry, finances, etc. Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death-that is, the devilAnd also that He might deliver and completely set free all those who through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bondage throughout the whole course of their lives. Hebrews 2:14,15. You dont have to be afraid of Satan and his demons again. In this book, you will find victory over those fears you have had because of the stories you have heard or experiences you have had about demons. You will discover for yourself how to deal with devils by yourself. You wont need to go through a prophet or prayer warrior. You will deal the finest blow to Satan that will put him and his demons at bay. In fact, when they hear or see you coming they will flee for fear that you will torment them before their time. You will become a terror to Satan and his operations. So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

James 4:7 I know that you may have read many books on this subject. Some of them have so magnified Satan that you are scared. I have seen books written by people who have hardly dealt with real demons and wondered how they got their conclusions. Some of these authors wrote from other peoples stories. No wonder their messages are distorted. But this book teaches the truth that will make you free. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. John 8:32.

CHAPTER TWO WHAT ARE DEMONS? First this: God created the Heavens and Earth--all you see, all you don't see. Genesis 1:1 (The Message Bible). God existed before any other being or thing. He has no beginning because He is The Beginning Himself. He is self-existent. He has no creator. He is the Creator. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all). Revelation 1:8. Every other being or thing was created by God. The lights. The heavens. The earth. The sun, moon and stars. The great and small sea fishes. Every moving creature in the air, water and land. The grass of the field. Everything was created by God. IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. John 1:1-3. By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3. Anything you can think of was created by God - visible and invisible. The angels are also created beings. God created Satan and all his demons. Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16 (New Living Translation).

Was Satan originally so? No. He was called Lucifer, which means morning star or daystar because of his brightness. In fact, the Hebrew word for Lucifer, heylel, came from a word that means to shine or to make a show or to boast or to celebrate. In Gods plan, Lucifer was designed to show forth, to shine out, to celebrate the beauty of Gods holiness. Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: You are the full measure and pattern of exactness [giving the finishing touch to all that constitutes completeness], full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the carnelian, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl, onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and your settings and your sockets and engravings were wrought in gold. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were the anointed cherub that covers with overshadowing [wings], and I set you so. You were upon the holy mountain of God; you walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire [like the paved work of gleaming sapphire stone upon which the God of Israel walked on Mount Sinai]. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until iniquity and guilt were found in you. Ezekiel 28:11-15. Lucifer was the anointed cherub. He was a figure of exquisite beauty. He was covered with all of those beautiful stones - sardius, topaz, diamonds, sapphires, emerald, gold, etc. He was Gods masterpiece. He was the seal of Gods creation in heaven. He was He was He was Dont forget that he wasuntil sin was found in him and he was cast out of heaven. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until iniquity and guilt were found in you. Through the abundance of your commerce you were filled with lawlessness and violence, and you sinned; therefore I cast you out as a profane thing from the mountain of God and the guardian cherub drove you out from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud and lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I lay you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

You have profaned your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities and the enormity of your guilt, by the unrighteousness of your trade. Therefore I have brought forth a fire from your midst; it has consumed you, and I have reduced you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who looked at you. Ezek. 28:15-18. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 (King James Version). When he was cast out, he lost the light in him. He became darkness. He lost his beauty and glory. He lost everything. This is the biggest loser of all time. Satan is a loser. He lost everything. This is what Jesus said about Satan: And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. Luke 10:18. Apostle Paul calls the Devil darkness. How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the Devil 2 Corinthians 6:14,15(New Living Translation). It was Satan, darkness personified, that made the world a darkness in Genesis 1:2. The world became a wilderness - an open field dominated or subdued by darkness. The world became a prison house. It became a place of violence, profanity, corruption, defilement, all kinds of trafficking. Drug trafficking and human trafficking are the works of Satan. He is the stimulator behind the perpetrators of these vices. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Ezek. 28:19 (King James Version).

Lucifer became the first terrorist and the father of all terrorists. He is the father of all terrorists and suicide bombers. He is the father of all murderers, assassins and killers. This is in spite of race or religion. You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false. John 8:44. He is the father of all liars, false accusers and false witnesses. He is the father of all thieves and destroyers. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy John 10:10. His name was changed from Lucifer to: 1. The Devil, Greek, Diabolos, means false accuser, slanderer, deceiver, defamer, tempter. Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1 (New King James Version). Most of our temptations come from the Devil, the tempter. He will try and test you in your faith in God, yourself, your spouse and others. The essence of the temptation is to put a barrier, distrust, doubt and unbelief between you and God, His word, your partner, your partners confidence, etc. So, when the temptation, trial or test comes, know who is trying to upset you. It is not your spouse or boss. It is the Devil. Have you had situations when you and someone you love so dearly are at variance for no good reason? What about times when someone you love and trust begin to challenge your belief and confidence about an issue that is settled in your heart? There is the tendency to fight them. But they are not the ones against you. Have you suffered from false accusation or character defamation? Now you can see who masterminded it: the Devil. He only used the people. Often, he

will use those you trust or love or relate with closely. Remember when Jesus finished telling His disciples the things that would befall Him. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. Jesus knew that it was not Peter talking at that time. So, He turned away from Peter and rebuked the Devil. Then Peter took Him aside to speak to Him privately and began to reprove and charge Him sharply, saying, God forbid, Lord! This must never happen to You! But Jesus turned away from Peter and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan! You are in My way [an offense and a hindrance and a snare to Me]; for you are minding what partakes not of the nature and quality of God, but of men. Matt. 16:22-23. Jesus did not attack Peter like many of us would have done. He turned away from Peter and rebuked the Devil, the tempter, deceiver, and false accuser. Now you see what to do the next time you are falsely accused or defamed. Instead of fighting or defending yourself, turn away from the human persons and rebuke the demon hiding in the mask of that human body. You will read more about this when you get to Chapter Four. And the huge dragon was cast down and out--that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him. Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come-the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out! Revelation 12:9-10. The job of losers is summed up in this: losers seduce, deceive and accuse. They are always bringing up accusations against Gods people. Some losers even accuse God. So, whenever you are seduced or deceived or accused, know who is doing it: the devil. He may just be hiding behind some human flesh.

Then the devil who had led them astray [deceiving and seducing them] was hurled into the fiery lake of burning brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (through the ages of the ages). Revelation 20:10. His job is to accuse God and man falsely. He deceives and defames. He tempts and slanders. He leads astray those who follow his leading. Each time you follow his leading, you will be led astray. You will be led out of the way. So, whenever you feel led astray, you can now identify who caused it. Some times it is the Devil, the deceiver. In his deceit and lies, he still fakes the light. He still pretends as though you are on the right direction. Things may look pretty good initially. Very soon you will discover that it was a deception, a trap. And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14. Are you suffering as a result of false accusation or defamation of character? Today, we have located the one behind your sufferings. Before you finish reading this book, that Devil will be gone. I am coming in agreement with you to take back what you have lost as a result of all the accusations and defamation. In one of my Miracle Explosions in Benin City in 1990, a woman came looking depressed and cast down. I still remember her looks when she walked up to talk with me. Depression is a demonic manifestation. She was listed among some of her colleagues for a fraud in their bank. After the ministry of the word and prayers, she left. Some months later, she sent me her monthly donation and testimony. She was supernaturally vindicated. To show Gods favor, she was promoted twice and sent to one of their branches. The Devil wanted to destroy her by defaming her. But God delivered her. Today, you shall be delivered in Jesus name. Amen. 2. Satan, this Hebrew word means an opponent, an adversary, and an attacker. The Greek, satanas, means the same. SATAN [an adversary] stood up against Israel and stirred up David to

number Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1. Have you wondered why you have done those things you never wanted to do? Just like Satan attacked David and stirred him up to do what caused seventy thousand men to be destroyed. The same way, the Devil will attack you and stir you up to do things that will bring all kinds of devastation and destruction to your family and finances. He withstood an entire nation from making progress. The same way the Devil withstands families, communities, cities and countries. He opposes Gods people and progress. THEN [the guiding angel] showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at Joshua's right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him. Zechariah 3:1. David was a king, prophet and priest. That did not keep the Devil from opposing him. Joshua was the high priest yet Satan stood to oppose and accuse him. There are no super-heroes in this. The Devil has no respect for your family background, educational qualification, financial base or socalled spirituality. Peter had just finished giving one of the most powerful revelations of Christ and then the next minute, the Devil got his number. Satan came against Jesus through Peters voice. Jesus did not attack Peter. Rather, He identified the opposer, Satan and He rebuked the Devil. But Jesus turned away from Peter and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan! You are in My way [an offense and a hindrance and a snare to Me]; for you are minding what partakes not of the nature and quality of God, but of men. Matthew 16:23. In the early eighties when the witches gathered to attack the church of God, many American pastors took it lightly. They did not take a stand against these devils. Not too long in the mid-eighties their plot manifested as the fall of Jim Bakker and Swaggart rocked the church. Up until today the impact of that opposition from Satan is still there. The church is yet to fully recover. Over the years, there has been well-calculated assault from the opposer against the church. A few years ago it was the new age teaching. Then Harry Potter books filled bookstores across the western world teaching young and innocent children the art and practice of wizardry. Now many

children have learned how to cast spells for fun. Today, the gay thing is permeating every facet of the western culture even the church. All these are attacks from the pit of hell against the church of God. We must locate the attacker and deal with him. This is why I have written this book to show you how to deal with the opposer and attacker. 3. The Dragon, the old Serpent. You remember the serpent in the Garden of Eden? NOW THE serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, You shall not eat from every tree of the garden? Genesis 3:1 From that small subtle serpent in Eden, he grew to become Leviathan, the piercing and crooked serpent who slayed the dragons of the seas and became the great Dragon. Job 41:1,10,15,24-34. IN THAT day [the Lord will deliver Israel from her enemies and also from the rebel powers of evil and darkness] His sharp and unrelenting, great, and strong sword will visit and punish Leviathan the swiftly fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting and winding serpent; and He will slay the monster that is in the sea. Isaiah 27:1. And the huge dragon was cast down and out--that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him. Revelation 12:9. 4. Beelzebub - Lord of the flies or prince of devils. The Jews coined this one to blaspheme Jesus. It is a word used for the Chaldean dung-god. Satan is the god of dungs. But the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This Man drives out demons only by and with the help of Beelzebub, the prince of demons. Matthew 12:24. He is also called Belial, a Hebrew word for worthless, good for nothing or

unprofitable. The Hebrews considered Satan to be worthless. That was why they did not give him the kind of attention that Christians give to him today. The word Belial is also used for the wicked one, Satan. This is so because of the wickedness that trails him. He is wicked and therefore worthless. What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? 2 Corinthians 6:15. As a result of Satans fall to the earth, he became the god of this world, the ruler of the darkness of this world, the prince of the power of the air, the power of darkness, etc. His last name is called the angel of the bottomless pit - in Hebrew it is called Abaddon. In the Greek, it is called Apollyon. This name drives him crazy because it defines his end. And, he doesnt like to be reminded of it. Over them as king they have the angel of the Abyss (of the bottomless pit). In Hebrew his name is Abaddon [destruction], but in Greek he is called Apollyon [destroyer]. Revelation 9:11. When Satan was cast out of heaven to the earth, and seas, he was thrown out with some angels. These are called fallen angels. Dont you ever forget this: they are fallen. Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought. But they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer. And the huge dragon was cast down and out--that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him. Revelation 12:7-9. Now, let me ask you a question: from where were they cast down? From heaven. That means they are no longer in heaven. Then, who told you that there are some demons in the heavenlies ready to hinder your prayers? That is a lie from the pit of hell. There are no devils in heaven to hinder your prayers. As a child of God, you have direct access into the presence of the Father by faith through the blood of Jesus Christ.

By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us--set us right with him, make us fit for him--we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand--out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. Romans 5:1-2 (The Message Bible). Therefore, brethren, since we have full freedom and confidence to enter into the [Holy of] Holies [by the power and virtue] in the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19. Satan was hurled out of heaven and the heavenlies to the earth and seas. Therefore be glad (exult), O heavens and you that dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in fierce anger (fury), because he knows that he has [only] a short time [left]! Revelation 12:12 In this earth and seas, there are kingdoms. In Ezek. 28:12-19, you will read about the king of Tyrus. In Daniel 10:11-13, you will read about the prince or kings of the kingdom of Persia. Tyrus and Persia were kingdoms on earth. They were not in the heavenlies. Satan and his angels are here on earth and in the seas. They shake kingdoms and destroy cities. Those who see you will gaze at you and consider you, saying, Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms?-Who made the world like a wilderness and overthrew its cities, who would not permit his prisoners to return home? Isaiah 14:16,17. They fill the world with violence. Violence in homes, schools, cities and nations are the works of Satan. They profane Gods people. The pollution and abominations in churches and among Gods people are the works of Satan. They corrupt leaders. Many leaders assume offices with good intentions. But become corrupted by the forces of evil prevailing in that office. Good men

become evil on assumption of leadership offices. The reason is that evil is infectious. You can catch diseases but you cant catch healing. Demons defile Gods sanctuary. Your body is Gods sanctuary. You remember the man in Mark 5 who was possessed with unclean spirits. These spirits made him unclean. He was such filth. There are some people who stink. They smell really bad. No cologne will drown the smell from their body. They will have to be delivered from some demons of uncleanness. Some homes are filled with unclean spirits because as soon as you enter them you smell the bad odor. Demons make some people really filthy. Satan and his demons promote all kinds of trade and trafficking. Drug trafficking is demonic. Human trafficking of any kind or fashion is demonic. These are the works of Satan and his angels. Demons are fallen angels. They are Satans angels. They oppose Gods angels. That was why when angel Gabriel was sent to deliver answered prayers to Daniel, these same angels of Satan opposed Gabriel. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes, came to help me, for I remained there with the kings of Persia. Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the [hostile] prince of Persia; and when I have gone, behold, the [hostile] prince of Greece will come. But I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth or the Book of Truth. There is no one who holds with me and strengthens himself against these [hostile spirit forces] except Michael, your prince [national guardian angel]. Daniel 10:13,20,21. For every angel the Devil has against you, God has two powerful angels for you. In Daniels case, angels Gabriel and Michael conquered the prince of Persia. So, cheer up! They that are FOR YOU are more than those who are AGAINST YOU! [Elisha] answered, Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them. 2 Kings 6:16. Two things I want you to know about these demons and Satan:

1. They are indestructible - I have heard many Christians pray to destroy them. Some pray to kill them. That is stupid. If they could be killed, we would not have them to deal with today. I am sure that Jesus would have killed all of them. The truth is that they have been bruised and battered by Christ on the cross. They have no power over a child of God who knows the truth about them. In this way, God disarmed the evil rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross of Christ. Colossians 2:15 (New Living Translation). The power of Satan and his angels to destroy, cause violence, corrupt leaders, defile Gods people, etc, was taken away by Christ on the cross. But then, Satan and his demons still act as though they still have these powers. Just like he still acts as Lucifer by manifesting some lights in form of angelic manifestations, miracles, signs, wonders, etc. You must remember: all that glitter is NOT gold. Some are fake. That is what Satan is. He is a deceiver. He has been stripped of all power. Christ has destroyed his works on the cross. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. I John 3:8. 2. They have their limits - Satan is not as omnipresent as many Christians think. He and his demons are limited in presence. They are not everywhere at the same time. There are places you go to and its clean - no devil to deal with. They are not omnipotent as many Christians also think. I have heard even preachers talk about how powerful Satan and his demons are. That amazes me because in my twenty some years of Christian experience I have come to a conclusion: Satan is a coward, a wimp. Someone who can attack you in your dream and does not have the moral fortitude or courage to attack you when you are awake has to be a coward. It is like bragging in the secret only to cower in the open. That is a coward. Why does he have to attack you from behind? If he is sure of himself, he should come forward. Satan and his demons are not omniscient. They dont listen to every secret

conversation you make. Jesus told His disciples several times about His death and resurrection. Yet, 1 Corinthians 2:8 tells us that none of the princes of this world knew about the mystery surrounding the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If they did not follow Jesus listening to every conversation what makes you think that they are always following you? Who do you think you are for the devil to be following you every second? I know of Christians who speak of the devil following them as if it is an achievement. May be, to them, it is a degree of spirituality. They did not follow Jesus. In fact, the first time we see Jesus deal with the devil, it was a bad case for Satan that he left Jesus. Then the devil departed from Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:11. Good News! The Devil and his Demons are very limited. This limit was placed on the devil when Jesus walked this earth. When Jesus introduced the kingdom of God on earth, it marked the end of the kingdom of Satan on earth. Satans dominion was taken away by Christ. As a result, the devil is limited. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you [before you expected it]. Or how can a person go into a strong man's house and carry off his goods (the entire equipment of his house) without first binding the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. Matthew 12:28,29. This world was Satans house. He was the strong man. Jesus came, bound him. Jesus put the limits on Satan and then took away Satans goods - you and me. We were delivered from the power of Satan. God's children all have a body. That is why Jesus himself had the same. But because Jesus also had a body, he was able to die and stop the devil. The devil has power to make people die. But Jesus, by his own death, was able to stop the power of death. People were afraid to die. All their lives they were like slaves. When Jesus died, he was able to set them free from their fear. Hebrew 2:14,15 (Worldwide English Version).

As long as the devil and his demons are on earth, they are bound. They have been cast into pits of gloom no wonder demons are gloomy. So are those who are possessed of demons, they are gloomy. For God did not [even] spare angels that sinned, but cast them into hell, delivering them to be kept there in pits of gloom till the judgment and their doom. 2 Peter 2:4. And angels who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place--these He has reserved in custody in eternal chains (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness until the judgment and doom of the great day. Jude 6. Who will declare the judgment of these angels? You are the one. God has kept these demons and Satan here for you to pass His judgment on them. Do you not know that the saints (the believers) will [one day] judge and govern the world? And if the world [itself] is to be judged and ruled by you, are you unworthy and incompetent to try [such petty matters] of the smallest courts of justice? Do you not know also that we [Christians] are to judge the [very] angels and pronounce opinion between right and wrong [for them]? How much more then [as to] matters pertaining to this world and of this life only! 1Corinthians 6:2,3. The word judgment, Greek, krisis means to make a decision after a tribunal. In every tribunal, there is a judge or jury who listens to cases and passes a verdict based on facts. There is also the plaintiff - the one who brings up cases to the tribunal. He is the accuser. In the court of divine justice, God is the Judge, Satan is the accuser the (the plain thief), you and I are the accused. The accused must have a lawyer (an advocate). Jesus is our Advocate in heaven and the Holy Spirit is our Advocate on earth. So we have two lawyers. Remember: for every devil against you, you have two angels for you. How can you not win in this tribunal? The judge has decided the fate of Satan and his angels. They are bound. Jesus bound them two thousand years ago. Even though they have been bound, it looks like they are free - moving

to and fro the whole earth. The truth is that they are on parole. As parolees they are subject to being returned to prison each time they violate or trespass Gods order concerning you or anything or anyone connected to you. For now you must pass Gods judgment, as a member of the parole board, on them until we are raptured. We are not looking forward to be ruptured by the devil and his demons. We are looking forward to be raptured. After we have been raptured, there is coming a time that Satan and his demons will be bound for a thousand years. After that they will be finally cast into the bottomless pit. This is one thing the devil does not like to hear. He is scared of his end. He knows and would like to keep you ignorant about his end. THEN I saw an angel descending from heaven; he was holding the key of the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and a great chain was in his hand. And he gripped and overpowered the dragon, that old serpent [of primeval times], who is the devil and Satan, and [securely] bound him for a thousand years. Then he hurled him into the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and closed it and sealed it above him, so that he should no longer lead astray and deceive and seduce the nations until the thousand years were at an end. After that he must be liberated for a short time. Revelation 20:1-3. Reminding Satan and his demons about their place in the bottomless pit is a torment to them. And behold, they shrieked and screamed, What have You to do with us, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the appointed time? Matthew 8:29.

CHAPTER THREE KINDS OF DEMONS Satan and his demons are not human beings. Many Christians fight certain people they call demons. They pray for them to die. I consider such practices as occultism. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies--the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. Eph. 6:12. (The Living Bible). No matter how wicked somebody is, they are still human. They are the same people Jesus Christ came to this world, suffered, died and resurrected so that they will be saved. These people are human just like you. Not one of us was born Christians. We were all sinners. We did all the bad things in this world. When we were wicked as sinners, somebody prayed for our salvation. They did not pray for us to die. It was the result of their prayers that we are now saved. We owe those who are still in sin a responsibility to labor in prayers and the preaching of the gospel until they become born again. In my opinion, the more wicked a person is, the more likely they are to be saved. The reason is because the more one is forgiven; the more he loves the forgiver. And Jesus, replying, said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he answered, Teacher, say it. A certain lender of money [at interest] had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. When they had no means of paying, he freely forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more? Simon answered, The one, I take it, for whom he forgave and cancelled more. And Jesus said to him, You have decided correctly. Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her

hair. You gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased [intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly. You did not anoint My head with [cheap, ordinary] oil, but she has anointed My feet with [costly, rare] perfume. Therefore I tell you, her sins, many [as they are], are forgiven her-because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little. Luke 7:40-47. Demons are spirits. They are not physical. I have seen where in the name of deliverance people throw up spit. On one such occasion, my friend said to me that those are spirits coming out of the people. I said, no, those are no spirits. There is a difference between spirit and spit. If you take out the letters ir from spirit, you will have spit. It is animalistic to be pouring spit like goats and dogs do. So they brought [the boy] to Him, and when the spirit saw Him, at once it completely convulsed the boy, and he fell to the ground and kept rolling about, foaming [at the mouth]. Mark 9:20. In any case, spit can be a manifestation of a demonic control. It was only in one instance in the ministry of Jesus we find a young man foaming in the mouth. This should not be a practice. You should not make a doctrine from one witness. A truth or doctrine (teaching) is established where there are two or more witnesses. But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Matthew 18:16. You cannot identify demons by physical parameters because they are spiritually discerned. There was a time a man came to my former church to talk on demons. The first lie he told was that he was secretary to Satan. I was so appalled that my leaders believe that lying devil of a man. As organized as Satans kingdom is, to have a human born a few years ago, as secretary is a far cry from reality. This fellow in his teaching talked about some ways to determine who is possessed. He used physical measures. For instance, he said that if a lady wears ankle chains or toe rings, she is possessed. Even if that is a symbol, it is not a standard. Dont go by physical signs.

To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the ability to discern and distinguish between [the utterances of true] spirits [and false ones] 1Corinthians 12:10. There is one way to discern demonic manipulation and possession. It is by the gift of discerning of spirits. This is one of the nine gifts of the spirit as in 1Corinthians 12:1-11. They are called gifts because nobody merits them. They are freely given to every Christian. If you are born again and filled with the Spirit, you have all these gifts inside you. Another word for them is manifestation. That is why we also call them the manifestations of the Spirit. They are the nine ways the Holy Spirit manifests. That is to say that anytime you see the Holy Spirit move or manifest, you can easily classify that move or operation into one or more of these nine ways. What is this gift all about? It enables you to identify spirits. In every given situation, it helps you to know if it is Gods Spirit, human spirit or satanic spirits. It helps you to understand the nature and operation of the spirit at work. It helps you to know the nature of the spirit, the name of the spirit, the number of spirits at the moment, the strength of the spirit and any other information relevant for you to deal with the situation. If you and I dont let this gift function through us, we can easily be hoodwinked and bewitched. It happened to Paul and Silas. As we were on our way to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who was possessed by a spirit of divination [claiming to foretell future events and to discover hidden knowledge], and she brought her owners much gain by her fortunetelling. She kept following Paul and [the rest of] us, shouting loudly, These men are the servants of the Most High God! They announce to you the way of salvation! And she did this for many days. Then Paul, being sorely annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit within her, I charge you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her! And it came out that very moment. Acts 16:16-18. She lied to Paul and Silas many days. The reason is that counterfeit always

looks like the genuine. It takes God to reveal the real thing as opposed to the lies and deceptions of Satan. The Bible said that Paul was sorely annoyed and worn out by the girls seeming prophecies. It was a light, a revelation, Paul received that took the veil off of his heart. When he realized that this girl was been used to deceive many, he was grieved. Many would have been carried away by the praises. And from such praise they end up in the devils prison. From praise of demons to prisons of demons. I would like you to see something Paul did, he spoke to the spirit. He did not speak to the girl. How many Christians fight precious human beings instead of dealing with the spirit? For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 (New Living Translation). This reminds me of my first deliverance exercise. I was trying to cast out demons from a boy I thought was possessed about twenty one years ago. In trying to find out the name of the devil, I asked the boy or may be the demon, what is your name? The answer was John. I tell you what, I was confused. If I had cast out John out of that body, I am sure that I would have had a dead body before me. Every human being is first a spirit. You are a spirit. So are your relations, friends and the more than six billion people on earth today. We all have souls. We live in a house called body. This mass of flesh called body is the house where your spirit (the real you) lives. And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Satan and his demons are spirits. They dont have bodies. For them to be able to express themselves legally in this world, they have to use bodies. In Genesis chapter three, he used the body of a serpent. Because they are real personalities, they will manifest their personalities by taking on the personalities of the bodies they have possessed. This is the reason they

always look for bodies they can enter and express themselves in their evil mission on earth. But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through dry [arid] places in search of rest, but it does not find any. Then it says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order, and decorated. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So also shall it be with this wicked generation. Matthew 12:43-45. If these spirits dont find bodies to manifest their mission, they will be crippled. You can see why they will even ask God for His permission to let them use you. Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to have all of you, to sift you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen and build up your brothers. Luke 22:31,32 (New Living Translation). When these demons succeed in having a body - it can be the body of your parents, spouse, children, colleagues, friends, pastor, etc - they talk and act through that body. At this time, it is not the person you used to know. You must address the spirit. Then Peter took Him aside to speak to Him privately and began to reprove and charge Him sharply, saying, God forbid, Lord! This must never happen to You! But Jesus turned away from Peter and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan! You are in My way [an offense and a hindrance and a snare to Me]; for you are minding what partakes not of the nature and quality of God, but of men. Matthew 16:22,23. You must learn to separate the human personality from the demon personality manifesting. This is only possible by the gift of discerning of spirits as mentioned earlier. It is by this gift, you are able to identify the

particular nature and name of the demon involved. In the earthly ministry of Jesus, He dealt with a vast majority of demons. Instances abound of how He dealt with deaf and dumb spirits. These are spirits who by their name and nature cause the bodies they possess to be deaf and dumb. In cases like this you are not dealing with a medical defect along the hearing and speech lines. To treat a situation like this medically is a waste of resources. Only a deliverance from these spirits will restore the human personality to a place where he or she can hear and speak again. Then a blind and dumb man under the power of a demon was brought to Jesus, and He cured him, so that the blind and dumb man both spoke and saw. Matthew 12:22. There are demons of infirmity. By their name and nature they cause the bodies they possess to be infirmed. To infirm means to weaken either by abnormal aging process or by disease. Due to this infirmity, such people become very weak in certain aspects of life. Some are weak emotionally, physically, socially, academically, financially, economically, politically, sexually, etc. You can see that these people have all the potentials, personalities, powers and people at their disposal. But a demon of infirmity weakens them. They just cant overcome in that area no matter how hard they try. The reason is simply because in that area of life these demons have bound them. They are bound, limited, tied, chained. They are weak. No matter how hard they train, they cant overcome that weakness. Even if they have all the resources, in that aspect of life, they will be very weak and as such failures. There will be no way out until the demon of infirmity is dealt with. Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had an infirmity caused by a spirit (a demon of sickness). She was bent completely forward and utterly unable to straighten herself up or to look upward. And when Jesus saw her, He called [her to Him] and said to her, Woman, you are released from your infirmity! Then He laid [His] hands on her, and instantly she was made straight, and she recognized and thanked and praised God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on

the Sabbath, said to the crowd, There are six days on which work ought to be done; so come on those days and be cured, and not on the Sabbath day. But the Lord replied to him, saying, You playactors (hypocrites)! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead it out to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day? Even as He said this, all His opponents were put to shame, and all the people were rejoicing over all the glorious things that were being done by Him. Luke 13:10-17. As much as possible, you must be careful not to go about trying to find out the name of every demon in every body. I have seen some so called deliverance ministers who have names of demons that you will not find in the Bible. That is madness. How many angels of God do you have names for? Unless the Spirit of God leads you to know the names of such demons, treat all as demons because that is what they are. Only on one occasion Jesus asked a demon its name. For Jesus was commanding, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit! And He asked him, What is your name? He replied, My name is Legion, for we are many. Mark 5:8,9. It is stupid to make a standard to always ask the demons of their names. If the Lord Jesus wanted us to continue asking for their names, He would have done it at least twice because in the month of two or more witnesses every word is established. Besides, demons can never tell you the truth. They are liars and there is no truth in them. Whatever they tell you is a lie because that is their nature. You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false. John 8:44. I am often amazed when I hear Christians intimidated by a demon in

deliverance cases. If you are born again, no devil in hell, on earth and in the seas can harm you. You should know that the blood of Jesus has washed you. Your past is gone. Dont let any devil intimidate you because of your past life. Even if you have sinned, confess it to God and let the blood of Jesus avail for you. From that point, whatever the devil says is a lie. Confront his lies with the truth of Gods word. The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name! And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven. Luke 10:17-20. Your name is in the book of life. That devils name is not there. Oh, this kills the devil to hear this from your lips. You overcome Satan and his demons by the blood of Jesus and by the words of your testimony. Your testimony of what Jesus did to Satan on the cross is a deathblow to Lucifer. Your testimony of what Jesus did for you - He bought you, He owns your body. Child of God, no Devil has the right to intimidate you even if you have done wrong. The wrong deed will be settled between you and your Father. This is one reason I love my mother. Those days when I was a bad boy, she would never agree with those who felt I was bad when they came to complain about something I had done. But between the two of us, my mother would discipline me. If we human beings can be that sensible, how much more our God. That is why I challenge you to tell that Devil to get lost. And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing]. Revelation 12:11.

CHAPTER FOUR HOW TO DEAL WITH DEMONS These are the last days. The greatest onslaught of the devil is yet to be made manifest. That is not to frighten you because the worst of Satans attack was unleashed on the cross. In all his exploits, Jesus bruised his head. Satans best is not good enough. He is a defeated foe. God said to me one day, 'Son, your weakest point is stronger than the Devil's strongest point.' You know why? God will use your weakest point to bring to naught the enemy's strength. [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame. And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are. I Corinthians 1:27,28. However, the most successful weapons of the enemy of your soul, Satan, have been lies and deception. His nature is to deceive so as to destroy. He lies so as to lord it over those he lies to. This is the reason why you will find all kinds of lies sold out on television, radio, newspapers, and gatherings of all kinds even in church. The saddest part is the fact that this is a generation of lazy minds. Minds that dont question what they listen to or watch. Minds that just soak in everything they hear or see. Even if it is working, it does not make it the truth. Even if it is coming from the papacy, it does not mean it is of God. God is NOT a man. God is NOT like your pastor, prophet or president. They are men who can be misled. God is God. God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? Numbers 23:19 God is bigger than your pope, priest, pastor, prophet or president. He is NOT autocratic. He invites us to REASON with Him.

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18. You can reason with God. You can ask questions. You can agree and disagree with God. He is not an abstract. He is more real than anything or anyone you know. You can read His mind in the pages of the Bible. You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! John 5:39. Jesus is God made flesh. That means when you see Jesus, you have seen God. Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father? John 14:9. Jesus is the best expression of who the Godhead is and how They work. If you must deal with Satan and his demons, look at Jesus how He dealt with them. He is our standard. Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2. As much as we respect people, God is bigger than them. Besides, whatever anyone knows is incomplete. It is only a part of what is to be known. For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded). When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I

reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways and have put them aside. For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood. 1 Corinthians 13:9-12. In my studies of the scriptures, I found that Jesus dealt with Satan and his demons in three ways. I have tested these principles and pattern our Lord set for us and they are working miracles. They work anywhere in the world. But when Jesus noticed that a crowd [of people] came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you to come out of him and never go into him again. Mark 9:25 (Emphasis mine). You will find in the above scripture three things Jesus did: He rebuked the demon. He removed the demon. He resisted the demon. ONE: REBUKE THE DEVIL The disciples tried to cure the boy. The word cure, Greek, therapeuo, means to attend to (especially in medical sense) in order to relieve. It is a therapeutic approach to recovery. This knowledge is acquired scientifically, medically and otherwise. It is using common sense or standard procedures for recovery. For your information, devils dont respond to therapy. They respond to rebuke. And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured instantly. Matthew 17:18. Jesus did not use counseling or some therapeutic methods. He rebuked the devil. The word rebuke, Greek, epitimao, means to impose a tax on; to make a heavy demand on; to severely forbid. By implication when you live and work in a society, you are supposed to pay taxes for you to enjoy the facilities. You cannot just enjoy the services for free. It is your taxes that are used to maintain the facilities. To a great extent, these taxes put a limit on you to what extent you have access to the facilities available. If you dont

pay your taxes, you will be forbidden from using them. In most civil societies, you will go to jail. These demons are spirits. They need bodies to express their evil works. Any body they live or work through was created and is owned by God. In His earthly ministry, Jesus made a heavy demand on them to leave their occupants. Anytime you come against demon spirits, you are dealing with offenders who have been enjoying the facilities they have occupied for too long without paying taxes. In any civil society, a tax offender must go to jail. In this situation, these demons must go to jail. You and I are the ones God is depending on to pass the judgment and sentence. About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him. John 16:11. For God did not [even] spare angels that sinned, but cast them into hell, delivering them to be kept there in pits of gloom till the judgment and their doom. 2 Peter 2:4. To rebuke also means to superimpose a new order. The old is destroyed so that the new is established. All that was functional under the old order becomes dysfunctional in the new order. From the fall of man in Eden to Gethsemane, Satan was the god of this world. He ruled without mercy. That was the old order. From Gethsemane to date, there is a new order. You must super impose this new order in your world. For your information, there is no negotiation. There is no peace treaty. There is no concession. The devils tenure expired more than two thousand years ago. With a bruised head, he cant rule here from asylum. Another word for rebuke is to charge. It means to attack with speed. You dont allow any chance. Satan can be so slimy so you attack with speed. Rush and attack. David killed Goliath when he hasted and ran to attack Goliath. When the Philistine came forward to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.

David put his hand into his bag and took out a stone and slung it, and it struck the Philistine, sinking into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck down the Philistine and slew him. But no sword was in David's hand. So he ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath, and killed him, and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their mighty champion was dead, they fled. 1 Samuel 17:48-51. Dont give that deceiver any chance at all. This is one reason you should not get into a dialogue. You might be deceived and hoodwinked. Attack with speed. Dont listen to the lies. Attack in a hurry. If you dont attack, they will attack you. I will never forget when there was a lion at the Port Harcourt Zoo some years ago. It was old. Then a man brought his dog to fight this lion. The lion and the dog fought until the lion became weak and tired. It played a fast one on the dog. You see, this dog was domesticated. It had lived with the owner until it started to feel like people. The lion took advantage of that and succeeded in getting the lion's sympathy. It was at that point that it attacked the dog and killed it. And they entered into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He went into the synagogue and began to teach. And they were completely astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching as One Who possessed authority, and not as the scribes. Just at that time there was in their synagogue a man [who was in the power] of an unclean spirit; and now [immediately] he raised a deep and terrible cry from the depths of his throat, saying, What have You to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God! And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hush up (be muzzled, gagged), and come out of him! And the unclean spirit, throwing the man into convulsions and screeching with a loud voice, came out of him. Mark 1:21-26. I will never forget an experience I had when I was a guest in the home of one of my dear friend. He has these two big dogs. Naturally, I dont like

dogs because the Bible tells me to beware of them. Phil. 3:2. On the day I was to leave to catch my flight. I went out to take care of some business in the early hours of the day. By then the dogs were in their cage in the basement. When I returned, one of them, the violent one had loosed itself from the cage and would have prevented me from entering the house to pick up my baggage to leave. I tell you, I was angry. In anger I screamed at the dog to get back to where it belonged: the basement. I tell you that the dog saw the fury in my face and heard it in my voice. Guess what? It took off to the cage and was quiet for the rest of the time until I left. This is how to treat the Devil and his demon cohorts. In dealing with Devils, never you be afraid of them. Even if you are, speak the word of boldness until it overwhelms you. And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God. Phil. 1:28. TWO: REMOVE THE DEVIL And when He arrived at the other side in the country of the Gadarenes, two men under the control of demons went to meet Him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce and savage that no one was able to pass that way. And behold, they shrieked and screamed, What have You to do with us, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the appointed time? Now at some distance from there a drove of many hogs was grazing. And the demons begged Him, If You drive us out, send us into the drove of hogs. And He said to them, Begone! So they came out and went into the hogs, and behold, the whole drove rushed down the steep bank into the sea and died in the water. Matthew 8:28-32. Many Christians deal with people as if they are dealing with demons. Demons are demons. People are people. You must learn to deal with people

properly. If someone is possessed or obsessed by demons, separate them. Remove the demons from the people. Jesus showed us how to deal with devils by casting them out. He never told us to bind devils. No wonder many people have demons following them because they are bound to them. Where you bind them that is where they will be. If you bind them in your house, why are you surprised that they are still around you? When you read in Matthew chapters 16 and 18 about binding and loosing, it has nothing to do with demons. Rather, it has to do with people. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19. The keys of the kingdom of heaven are the secrets or principles that will make one enjoy heaven on earth and earth in heaven. The word bind, Greek, deo, means to prohibit, to forbid or declare to be illicit. It can also mean to compel or constrain to do something. Whatever you bind on earth, as a church will be bound or disallowed from enjoying what heaven has to offer on earth. This puts heavens authority on the church. It is such that whatever the church disallows on earth, heaven has disallowed. Why it has nothing to do with the devil is because Satan can never get back to heaven. Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought. But they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer. Revelation 12:7,8. Binding and loosing is an exclusive power of the church. It is the power to put limits, draw lines and boundaries such that people dont pass them. If your brother wrongs you, go and show him his fault, between you and him privately. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

If he pays no attention to them [refusing to listen and obey], tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector. Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven. Matthew 18:15-18. From the above scripture, you can bind someone by keeping them at bay so that they dont offend you again. You draw lines to keep people from getting close to those NO GO AREAS of your life. To bind also means to retain or not forgive. To loose means to remit or forgive. Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you! [Just] as the Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you. And having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit! [Now having received the Holy Spirit, and being led and directed by Him] if you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained. John 20:21-23. However, there are two instances you will find the devil bound. One was when Jesus came. Before He came, the devil was the strongman of the world. He held man hostage. Jesus went to the regions of the dead and took the power of Satan. In a triumphant procession out of hell, Satan was bound. His goods were taken away as Jesus led captivity captive. Satan who had captured man was eventually captured and became a captive of Jesus. Since then, Satan has been bound - he has limits. The devil cannot cross that line the bloodline anymore. But no one can go into a strong man's house and ransack his household goods right and left and seize them as plunder unless he first binds the strong man; then indeed he may [thoroughly] plunder his house. Mark 3: 27. After we have been raptured, the devil will be let loosed for a period of time. During this time, the anti-christ will be fully manifested. This time will be very short and it will end when Jesus comes the second time to rule on earth with the saints for a thousand years. During this millennium reign of Christ and the saints on earth, Satan will be bound.

THEN I saw an angel descending from heaven; he was holding the key of the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and a great chain was in his hand. And he gripped and overpowered the dragon, that old serpent [of primeval times], who is the devil and Satan, and [securely] bound him for a thousand years. Then he hurled him into the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and closed it and sealed it above him, so that he should no longer lead astray and deceive and seduce the nations until the thousand years were at an end. After that he must be liberated for a short time. Revelation 20:1-3. When this millennium of Jesus reign on earth with the saints expires, Satan will be loosed again but this will mark his end as he and his demon cohorts as well as all who followed him shall be turned to the lake which burns with fire forever. And when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his place of confinement, And he will go forth to deceive and seduce and lead astray the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth--Gog and Magog--to muster them for war; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they swarmed up over the broad plain of the earth and encircled the fortress (camp) of God's people (the saints) and the beloved city; but fire descended from heaven and consumed them. Then the devil who had led them astray [deceiving and seducing them] was hurled into the fiery lake of burning brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (through the ages of the ages). Revelation 20:7-10. What must you do with the devil? Cast him out! If you find him in your house or office, cast him out! If you find him in your spouse, parents, children, boss, staff, colleague, friends, relatives, etc, cast him out! Dont tell them to their faces. Like Jesus, turn away from them and rebuke the Devil. You have the power to cast out devils. AND JESUS summoned to Him His twelve disciples and gave them power and authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of weakness and infirmity. Matthew 10:1.

The authority to cast out devils is not in your membership of a church or connection with a well-known preacher. The sons of Skeva, a Jewish chief priest, wanted to cast out devils because of their priestly heritage and connection with Paul. The devils dealt with them terribly. They were cast out by demons. So, it is either you cast them out or they will cast you out of your mind, marriage, ministry, business, etc. Then some of the traveling Jewish exorcists (men who adjure evil spirits) also undertook to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, I solemnly implore and charge you by the Jesus Whom Paul preaches! Seven sons of a certain Jewish chief priest named Sceva were doing this. But [one] evil spirit retorted, Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you? Then the man in whom the evil spirit dwelt leaped upon them, mastering two of them, and was so violent against them that they dashed out of that house [in fear], stripped naked and wounded. Acts 19:13-16. You can cast out devils in the name of Jesus Christ. That is the authority of heaven. The name of Jesus Christ will cause demons to be subject to you. And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages. Mark 16:17. You can cast out devils with the word of Gods power. You speak the word not your wish. You speak. You dont keep quiet and wish everything would be all right. You must give the devils direction as to what action they must follow. When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick. And when He arrived at the other side in the country of the Gadarenes, two men under the control of demons went to meet Him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce and savage that no one was able to pass that way. And behold, they shrieked and screamed, What have You to do with us, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the appointed time?

Now at some distance from there a drove of many hogs was grazing. And the demons begged Him, If You drive us out, send us into the drove of hogs. And He said to them, Begone! So they came out and went into the hogs, and behold, the whole drove rushed down the steep bank into the sea and died in the water. Matthew 8:16,28-32. Cast out devils by the finger of God. The finger of God is the power of God at work in and through us. It is the anointing of the Holy Spirit. But if I drive out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has [already] come upon you. Luke 11:20. Never you cast out demons in your own strength or in the flesh. Do it by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in you. It is God working in you to establish His kingdom on earth. Then he said to me, "This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6. (New Living Translation). [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. Philipians 2:13. I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]. Philipians 4:13. THREE: RESIST THE DEVIL So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Dont forget the process: attack the devil with speed, cast him out and then resist him. To resist, Greek, anthistemi, means to stand against, to oppose, to withstand, to set yourself against your opponent. You need to draw the line - the battle line. You will not cross it and the devil will not

cross it either. That line must be drawn by the blood of Jesus. The blood forms an impenetrable fortress, a solid hedge around your life. You must stay under the blood so that the same devils will not come back into your world with seven more wicked devils. But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through dry [arid] places in search of rest, but it does not find any. 44Then it says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order, and decorated. 45Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So also shall it be with this wicked generation. Matthew 12:43-45. As long as you stay under the protective covering of the blood of Jesus, no devil in hell, earth and sea can harm you. The blood shall be for a token or sign to you upon [the doorposts of] the houses where you are, [that] when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt. Exodus 12:13. Then Satan answered the Lord, Does Job [reverently] fear God for nothing? Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. Job 1:9,10. The moment you break that hedge of protection, you would have crossed the line to the other side where you have no protection. That is the side where the devil is busy working. Be sure that he will give you a big bite. He who digs a pit [for others] will fall into it, and whoever breaks through a fence or a [stone] wall, a serpent will bite him. Ecclesiastes 10:8. No matter what or who enticed or seduced you out of the protective covering of the blood, the moment you realize yourself, repent and get back to God.

When you get back, put up a resistance. Dont let down your guards. You must be consistent in resisting the devil because he is very persistent. Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:8,9. Your resistance is a fight of faith. This fight is a conflict in your mind to believe God and His word or to doubt God and His word. The fight is: who do you believe? God or the devil? Who do you trust? God or Satan? Whose word mean most to you? Gods word or Satans lies? Whose word are you ready to hold on to until you win the battle? Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12.

CHAPTER SIX DELIVERANCE FROM DEMONS Are you tormented by demons? You can be delivered. There is deliverance for you. There are three kinds of demonic situations you will face in life: 3. DEMONIC OPPRESSION How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38. The word, oppressed, Greek, katadunasteuo, means to exercise harsh control over one, to use ones power against one, to oppose with intensity, to press down against ones will. It also means to weigh down with guilt, condemnation, weaknesses, mistakes, misfortunes, cares, etc. Many who are under the oppression of demons find it difficult to do what they plan, dream, desire or decide to do. They find that they just dont have the power to carry out their resolutions, decisions and plans. No matter how decisive they are, they just cant. No matter how hard they try, they just cant. It is an oppression of the devil. If you are having this problem, you are being opposed by devils. But you shall be delivered in Jesus name. Amen. Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had an infirmity caused by a spirit (a demon of sickness). She was bent completely forward and utterly unable to straighten herself up or to look upward. And when Jesus saw her, He called [her to Him] and said to her, Woman, you are released from your infirmity! Then He laid [His] hands on her, and instantly she was made straight, and she recognized and thanked and praised God.

But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, There are six days on which work ought to be done; so come on those days and be cured, and not on the Sabbath day. But the Lord replied to him, saying, You playactors (hypocrites)! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead it out to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day? Even as He said this, all His opponents were put to shame, and all the people were rejoicing over all the glorious things that were being done by Him. Luke 13:10-17. For eighteen years, this woman was bent over or bowed together. The Greek, sugkupto means to completely overcome, to bend without cooperation or permission. No wonder she couldnt in any way lift up herself. Many times in those years, she tried to lift up herself only to find out that she just could not. She was not in agreement with the oppression of the enemy for Satan had bound her. Satan bound her. She was opposed and resisted by Satan. It was an oppression of the devil. Can a Christian be oppressed of demons? Yes, indeed. The woman was a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan kept bound for eighteen years. Can a pastor, church worker, minister be oppressed of demons? Yes, indeed. Even Joshua, the high priest, was opposed by Satan. THEN [the guiding angel] showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at Joshua's right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him. Zechariah 3:1. Why would someone who is born again, may be tongue talking, active in church, be oppressed of the devil? There are just two answers to this question. One, oppression of demonic forces can be the result of disobedience. When a child of God disobeys Gods word or steps out of Gods plan, Satan has been mandated by God to oppress that child. He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth

wood shall be endangered Ecclessiastes 10:8,9 (King James Version).

Anytime a child of God breaks the law of God, oppression takes its course. This course is taken under the tutelage of the schoolmaster called Satan. His demons become the teachers or tutors. Let me show you the implications of this. As long as the heir is a minor, he has no advantage over the slave. Though legally he owns the entire inheritance, he is subject to tutors and administrators until whatever date the father has set for emancipation. That is the way it is with us: When we were minors, we were just like slaves ordered around by simple instructions (the tutors and administrators of this world), with no say in the conduct of our own lives. Galatians 4:1-3. (The Message Bible). Some of the signs of this level of oppression are: you will be spoiled or plundered or robbed of those things you cherish or depend on. You will be exploited. You will find yourself in straight situations where no one wants to help you. You are cut of from aid, help and assistance. These are signs of oppression. And you shall grope at noonday as the blind grope in darkness. And you shall not prosper in your ways; and you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to save you. Deuteronomy 28:29. Are you being plucked off at the point of getting a job, a promotion, a contract, etc? This is a near success syndrome. That is a demonic oppression. You need deliverance. Have you been stripped of your job, properties, possession or personality by force or violence? Have men of the underworld robbed you? This is a demonic oppression. You need deliverance. If this just happened once, it may be an accident. But when there is a continual occurrence of it, then, it is a demonic case. If at every turn you make, you are crushed, then it is a demonic case. A nation which you have not known shall eat up the fruit of your land and of all your labors, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed

continually. Deuteronomy 28:33. You may have been oppressed to the point where your tears have become your pillows at night. It may look like there is no father, mother, child, brother or friend to stand by you to help you out. The oppression may have so humiliated and de-humanized you to the point where you have lost hope and you wish you were dead. You are not alone. THEN I returned and considered all the oppressions that are practiced under the sun: And I beheld the tears of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors was power, but they [too] had no comforter. Ecclesiastes 4:1. God will deliver you and make something beautiful out of your crushed life. Get ready for a transformation from God your help. Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of [special revelation to] Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets free the prisoners, The Lord opens the eyes of the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those upright in heart and in right standing with Him). Psalm 146:5-8. All you need to do to break the rod of the oppressor is to return to God. Turn away from your disobedience and rebellion. Confess your sins. If you turn away your foot from [traveling unduly on] the Sabbath, from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a [spiritual] delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and honor Him and it, not going your own way or seeking or finding your own pleasure or speaking with your own [idle] words, Then will you delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with the heritage [promised for you] of Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Isaiah 58:13,14. Two, oppression of demonic forces can also be the result of Satan having

heard the Lord and His angels discuss what great things God will do for you and through you. God spoke to me one day, Son, the reason why the devil is fighting you is because he is afraid of you. For he fights the most what he fears the most. Satan heard Gods boastings about job and Satan attacked job. Job 1:8-12. Job 2:3-7. What boastings has the Lord made about you? Get ready because Satan will attack you for it. The day Daniel prayed to God, the Bible said that his words were heard. God heard it. Satan heard it. That was why Satan assigned the prince of the kingdom of Persia to withstand the angel Gabriel from delivering the answer. Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Daniel 10:12-13. (New King James Version). There are things you have prayed about. God has heard. Satan knows that if you have the answers, his kingdom is in trouble. So, he will go all out to oppress you the instrument by which God will do such great things. When Saul whose name was changed to Paul had an encounter with God, the Lord stated His plan for Saul clearly. But the Lord said to him, Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of Mine to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the descendants of Israel; For I will make clear to him how much he will be afflicted and must endure and suffer for My name's sake. Acts 9:15,16. Pauls assignment was to bear the name of Christ before the Gentiles, kings and Israel. Not long after this mandate was declared, the opposition started. It started from the church.

And when he had arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to associate himself with the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe he really was a disciple. Acts 9:26. What about our Lord Jesus? At the baptism in Jordan, God declared, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! Matthew 3:17. The next verse in Chapter four opens up with the temptation of Jesus by the devil. The word tempted Greek peirazo means to be disciplined or scrutinized. It means to attack, assault and bombard with thoughts or words in order to overcome. This is the tactics used by Police interrogators, investigators and lawyers. They ask with swelling words until your mind cant think or reason again. Strong-minded people become so harassed that they shut-up. But the people who are weak in minds flare up and say things that further incriminate them. Have you been so harassed by certain situations that you have accepted them as your fate in this life? Have you been attacked, assaulted, harassed, and vexed to the point where you have become a dummy? You have become speechless. Your mind has been docile. Or you have become so angry that anything causes you to explode. Try to listen to yourself at times. Hear yourself. Are your words hostile to yourself? You need deliverance. Demonic oppression can also be caused by the office you occupy. There are certain offices or positions that attracts demonic oppression. This happens when you find the same sequence of events and happenings to people who have occupied that office. If for instance, anyone who gets to that office falls by adultery, mismanagement of funds, corruption, etc. Then, there is a demonic oppression that office attracts. If the office attracts robbery, assassination, war, etc. There is a demonic oppression that office attracts. When God instituted the office of the high priest in the Bible, it was to represent God to man and man to God. The devil knows the significance of this office and thus has always attacked it to destroy Gods representation. The first high priest, Aaron, was never stable. He led Israel to worship the golden calf. It was high priest Caiaphas the devil used to declare the sentence of Jesus which led to His crucifixion. As a minister of God, beware! Satan will resist you by virtue of your office. But be rest assured that you will overcome.

And the Lord said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! Even the Lord, Who [now and habitually] chooses Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this [returned captive Joshua] a brand plucked out of the fire? Zechariah 3:2. Even if you are overpowered, the moment you come to yourself, repent and God will use you to do damage to Satan. Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers. Luke 22:31,32 (English Standard Version). The intercessions of Jesus in heaven will cause you to overcome every oppression of the devil. You will be saved to the uttermost. Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them. Hebrews 7:25. When you are overpowered, run to Him who is able to save you. Why will Satan oppose you? Apart from the fact that you are of God, Satan will oppress you when he knows that you have seen a truth that will make you free. The moment you get to know what will put you over all the works of Satan, you have finished Satan. So, the Devil and his demon cohorts will fight you. This is why he fights radio, television and media ministries that proclaim the truth. Besides revelation, Satan will oppose you if he knows that many people will be liberated by you. Satan will oppose you in order to keep more people from being liberated. Why do you think that the devil attacks healing evangelists? He does not want those who are sick to be healed. So, when you fight healing evangelists, you are taking sides with the devil to oppose Gods plan to heal the world. But be ever mindful of the days gone by in which, after you were first spiritually enlightened, you endured a great and painful struggle, Sometimes being yourselves a gazingstock, publicly exposed to insults

and abuse and distress, and sometimes claiming fellowship and making common cause with others who were so treated. Hebrews 10:32,33. How can you be delivered from demonic oppression? Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in My ways and keep My charge, then also you shall rule My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give you access [to My presence] and places to walk among these who stand here. Zechariah 3:7. Retrace your steps back to the ways of God, which is His word. Commit yourself to obey the instructions of God to you. Each time we stop following Gods word, the enemy pursues us. Israel has rejected the good [with loathing]; the enemy shall pursue him. Hosea 8:3. Martha was troubled by many things. Mary chose the one thing that is needful - she sat at the feet of the Master. She listened to the Master. Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. "But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. Luke 10:38-42. (New King James Version). Your deliverance is tied to the spoken word. Read books that deal with that situation. Buy tapes of messages that deal with the situation. Fill your life with messages that will liberate you. Speak the word continuously over your life and environment until you become liberated. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the

brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Luke 4:18 (King James Version). Deliverance is not conducted. It is preached. It is proclaimed. It is the spoken word that liberates. Let anointed men and women speak the word into your life. You too can anoint yourself and speak the word over your life. If you have to speak the word all day and all night for weeks and months, do it. This is the only way to be liberated by the word: speak it out loud! It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life. John 6:63. 4. DEMONIC OBSESSION But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented and troubled him. Saul's servants said to him, Behold, an evil spirit from God torments you. 1 Samuel 16:14,15. Obsession is the condition where a mans mind is occupied with a pattern of thought. These thoughts become the motivation for whatever he does. Saul was troubled in his mind. It is a situation where his mind was bombarded by all kinds of crazy thoughts. For some people, it is the thoughts of death. All they are confronted with is death. For some others, it is the thought of suicide. They are so tormented by the devil in their minds that they just want to end it all. They just want to commit suicide. Hebrews 2:15. It is interesting to know that the word troubled in the Hebrew means to overtake or overwhelm with terror; to torment with fear-filled thoughts and images. These images can come in your dreams. You dream them until they become real. For some, it is a real experience that causes disaffection. This obsession makes people to disfavor them. Fear that cripples you mentally and otherwise is of the devil. It is a spirit of the devil. It makes you feel inadequate and unable. It fills your mind with hatred and jealousy. It robs you of clear thinking. It makes you tremble unnecessarily. It fills your mind with all kinds of filthy and unclean thoughts

that trouble you. It makes you to be shy and ashamed of yourself, your parents, family background, color, sex, etc. This is an obsession of the devil. You need deliverance. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and selfcontrol. Do not blush or be ashamed then, to testify to and for our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake, but [with me] take your share of the suffering [to which the preaching] of the Gospel [may expose you, and do it] in the power of God. 2 Timothy 1:7,8. The spirit of fear of Satan binds. It stifles your gifts. It makes you undermine and underestimate your gift. It makes you despise your gifts. It limits you. It is bondage. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Roman 8:15. (King James Version). Demonic obsession is a torment on your mind. The results of these mind torments can be seen in strange behaviors or strange actions and reactions. It is after you have behaved, acted or reacted that you asked yourself why? Many times you have realized that you did not have to have behaved, acted or reacted that way. But why did you? You were obsessed in your mind. You were tormented. Obsession can also be physical. It can be a disability that torments you. As a result of that disability or dysfunction, you hate yourself. You become unnecessarily hard on yourself. You drive yourself until you break down. Obsession can be a disease that torments you. Something that takes away ease from your life. This is why if it is the easy way out you fight it because it cant be that easy for you. You feel that you dont deserve it if it is that easy. Are you sick of a situation that keeps intimidating you? It may be a periodic or seasonal sickness, disease, malady, disability, handicap, etc. That is a demonic obsession. You need deliverance.

Can a Christian be obsession by demons? Yes, indeed. Peter walked with Jesus for more than three years. Yet, he was so obsessed by the devil that Jesus rebuked the devil from Peters mind. But Peter took him aside and began to reprimand him, saying, "God be merciful to you, Lord! This must never happen to you!" But Jesus turned around and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You're an offense to me, for you are not thinking God's thoughts but human thoughts! Matthew 16:22,23. (International Standard Version). Judas Iscariot was a disciple of Christ. Yet, Satan filled his mind to betray Jesus. The moment he entertained one thought, it led to many more. It became a strategy and well-orchestrated plot. The truth is that you cannot stop the thoughts from coming and going. But you can stop them from settling on your mind. Just like you cannot stop the birds from flying above your head but you can stop them from building a nest on your head. And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariote, being of the number of the twelve. And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them. And they were rejoiced, and agreed to give him money. And he came to an agreement to do it, and sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them away from the crowd. Luke 22:3-6. (Darbys Translation). When a child of God walks in disobedience, unforgiveness and ignorance of Gods word, he will be handed over to the tormentors. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. Matthew 18:34,35 (King James Version). When King Saul rejected Gods word, God rejected him. The Spirit of God departed from him and an evil spirit occupied his mind. Now the Spirit of the LORD had left Saul, and the LORD sent a tormenting spirit that filled him with depression and fear.

I Samuel 16:14 (New Living Translation). Each time you reject Gods word on your situation, be ready to suffer mind torment. The devils will torment your mind with all kinds of thoughts, words and images that will fill your life with depression and fear. Some people get so afraid that they cant walk out of their homes. Some cant live alone. They will always need company to feel safe. This is the reason why many fall into sex sins and wrong relationships. That is demonic obsession. Fear, worry and anxieties are demonic obsessions. Anytime you are worried and anxious, you are obsessed by unseen forces. The word anxiety means to distract or to draw in different directions. It is like standing with one leg each on two different chairs pulled by two opposing persons. Can you imagine what will happen to you? Think of this situation happening to your mind. It is torture indeed. The word, worry, itself means to torment your mind with thoughts. It can become terrible torture when images are formed from those thoughts. The reason why you fear people, worry and are anxious is simply because you have rejected Gods word. You dont believe what God said. If you believe Gods word, fear will disappear through the back door. Worry will leave your mind and you can walk in peace. You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. Isaiah 26:3. One servant was handed over to the tormentors because he refused to forgive his fellow servant. Matthew 18:21-35. This servant forgot that he was a servant as well. He also forgot that he was indebted to his master to the extent that he could not pay his debt. There are many Christians, ministers and even ministries who forget these two facts. They sit in judgment over Gods heritage. As a result, they were delivered to the tormentors. They suffer from demonic obsession. I know of a great man of God who became stunted in growth for years because he would not forgive some of his pastors and workers who left him. It is not that he was a saint and that was why they left him. No. In fact, he had his weakness which became known and that caused the split. Instead of

this man to run to God, he thought he owned God to refuse forgiveness. I think he may have cursed some of these workers who left. But such curses are Satanic because the man was under demonic obsession. He needed deliverance himself. Thank God He alone knows how to reach each one of us. What never ceases to amaze me is the fact that it took this great man of God many years to forgive his fellow servants. For all those years, his ministry was stunted. From the time he forgave his fellow servants, the speed of his success seem to have multiplied. No matter who you think you are, if you will be free from the tormenters, you must walk in forgiveness, love and faith in Gods word. Nobody is immune from the tormentors if they decidedly rebel against Gods word or are hardened in heart and unforgiving. But I say to you that everyone who continues to be angry with his brother or harbors malice (enmity of heart) against him shall be liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court; and whoever speaks contemptuously and insultingly to his brother shall be liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, You cursed fool! [You empty-headed idiot!] shall be liable to and unable to escape the hell (Gehenna) of fire. So if when you are offering your gift at the altar you there remember that your brother has any [grievance] against you, Leave your gift at the altar and go. First make peace with your brother, and then come back and present your gift. Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way traveling with him, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. Truly I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last fraction of a penny. Matthew 5:22-26. Are you angry with your spouse, pastor, member, boss, colleague, etc? Anger is one letter short of danger. Your anger will put you in danger of the judgment. What Jesus means by that statement is that the moment you get angry with your partner or brother, you have decided your own judgment. You have opened up your mind for the adversary to torment you with his thought patterns. No wonder an angry man can become a very dangerous tool in the hand of Satan. This becomes the shortest route to demonic

possession and control. Before you become possessed of the devil and be controlled by him like Judas Iscariot, deal with that anger. Settle the matter and be at peace. When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation, your fury or indignation) last until the sun goes down. Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. Ephesians 4:26,27. Has someone offended you badly and you are so angry that you have allowed the devil to torment your mind with the thoughts of what you will do to make them sorry for what they did to you? Watch it! Sin is at the door. It is not just sin now; Satan has desired to sift you like wheat. He wants to possess you if you let him. If you let him, you will be forever sorry that you let him use you to carry out his plans on earth. But for Cain and his offering He had no respect or regard. So Cain was exceedingly angry and indignant, and he looked sad and depressed. And the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry? And why do you look sad and depressed and dejected? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it. Genesis 4:5-7. Do not give place to the Devil. The reason is that if you give him an inch, he will take a foot. If you invite him into your life with one finger, you cannot drive him out with your ten fingers. Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry but don't use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don't stay angry. Don't go to bed angry. Don't give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. Eph. 4:26,27. (The Message Bible). 5. DEMONIC POSSESSION So [it was] during supper, Satan having already put the thought of betraying Jesus in the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, Then after [he had taken] the bit of food, Satan entered into and took possession of [Judas]. Jesus said to him, What you are going to do, do

more swiftly than you seem to intend and make quick work of it. John 13:2,27. The word, entered, came from two Greek words, which means to resort to with the freedom of motion. It implies that Satan was given the permission by Judas Iscariot to resort to his mind and life with the freedom to leave and/or return whenever he (Satan) decided. Judas surrendered control to Satan by this decision. So, it became Satans place to decide where Judas went and whatever he did. Demonic possession therefore is the state where a man or woman, boy or girl has lost control of their minds and motion to demonic spirits and beings. As a result, the devils have made the persons body their resort center. The bad part is that if you invite the devil into your life with one finger, you cant push him out with your ten fingers. If you give him half an inch, he will take two feet or more. Even when eventually they have been cast out of that body, they roam around for a while and return to see if it is empty. If they find it empty, they mobilize seven more wicked spirits to resort to that same body. The end of that person becomes worse than the beginning. (Matthew 12:43-45). The big question has been, can a Christian be demon possessed? The answer is emphatic. A Christian cannot be demon possessed. Every sinner is demon possessed. So, when a sinner gets to the foot of the cross and becomes born again, the god of this world that blinded and possessed him is cast out. Before a person becomes a Christian, he or she was possessed of devils. Now, that they are in Christ, they are no longer possessed by devils. They are born of God and have overcome the evil one. AND YOU [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of

the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God's] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind. But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation). Ephesians 2:1-5. However, after you have tasted of the glory of God, if you turn your back on God in disobedience and rebellion, like Saul, the Spirit of God will leave you and an evil spirit will possess you. The moment you turn your back on God or backslide, you are no more a Christian. A Christian, Greek, Christianos, is someone who is in constant communion with Christ, one who is anointed by Christ, one who is abiding in Christ. So, it is a present continuous experience. Your Christianity must not be based on one or two experiences of the past. It must be a daily experience with Christ. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13. (New International Version). Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can't bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can't bear fruit unless you are joined with me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing. John 15:4-5. (The Message Bible) For those who are possessed of demons, there are signs or fruits. Besides the invisible signs of rebellion against Gods word and the gospel of Christ, there are visible signs of those possessed by demons. Paralysis is a notable sign. It can be paralysis of the mind, will and emotion. This is a situation where the victim is not in control of what goes into and out of their minds. Your mind has been possessed. You need deliverance.

There is also paralysis of the will. This is a condition where the victim cannot take action or stay action on their own. You did not decide to move from point A to B but you found yourself there. You are not in control of your will. You need deliverance. Some people suffer from paralysis of the emotion. This is why you see them do things that they are not in control of. Why would a mother drown her three children? She was not in control of her emotion because if those children had died in an auto crash, she may not have survived the grief of that experience. But at that material time, she lost her emotions. No feelings. If you are going through this, you need deliverance. Insanity of the mind and environment can also be visible manifestations of demonic possession. Have you walked into an environment that drives you crazy? That environment is under heavy demonic control. Have you walked into some people who literally drove you crazy? It is evident that they are under demonic control. Cast out that devil before they influence you. Matthew 4:24. Some cases of deformities and abnormalities are the visible manifestations of demonic control. Some people are blind, deaf, mute, crippled, sick of some incurable and unidentifiable diseases, etc. These may be the results of demonic controls. Not all cases anyway. If you must correct the deformity and abnormality, you cannot succeed through medical or scientific approach. You must cast out the spirits in control of that situation before there will be a healing. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick Matthew 8:16. (King James Version). As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. Matthew 9:32, 33. (King James Version). Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both

spake and saw. Matthew 12:22. (King James Version). There are also some forms of discoveries that are of demonic control or manipulation. This is the counterfeit of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit as in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. If someone just knows some things about you without any pre-information when they are not born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. The truth is that they are under demonic control. They are possessed of devils. These include stargazers, diviners, enchanters, palmists, etc. Those who practice yoga and read horoscope are under demonic influence. If you are, you need deliverance. As we were on our way to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who was possessed by a spirit of divination [claiming to foretell future events and to discover hidden knowledge], and she brought her owners much gain by her fortunetelling. She kept following Paul and [the rest of] us, shouting loudly, These men are the servants of the Most High God! They announce to you the way of salvation! And she did this for many days. Then Paul, being sorely annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit within her, I charge you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her! And it came out that very moment. Acts 16:16-18. How can you be delivered from demonic possession? Locate a man of God anointed by God to preach deliverance to the captives. Just as Paul spoke to the spirit in the girl to come out of her, the man of God will speak to those demons that have been tormenting and controlling you to come out. And, they will come out of you in the name of Jesus. Amen. If you are born again, you can cast out devils as well. Do it in the name of Jesus and you will see the devils subject to you in that name. Mark 6:12,13. 16:17. Luke 10:17-19.

CHAPTER SIX HOW TO STAY DELIVERED To stay delivered is more important than being delivered. The reason is that if after the deliverance from a wicked spirit, you will be exposed to the danger of being possessed with seven more wicked spirits if you dont stay delivered. But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through dry [arid] places in search of rest, but it does not find any. Then it says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order, and decorated. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So also shall it be with this wicked generation. Matthew 12:43-45. As you can see from the above scripture, these spirits are illegal aliens wandering about seeking for bodies they can resort to for lodging and exercise their functions. They are moving to and fro the whole earth. And the Lord said to Satan, From where did you come? Then Satan answered the Lord, From going to and fro on the earth and from walking up and down on it. Job 1:7. Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 1 Peter 5:8. To keep them out of your life, you must let Christ - the Anointed One and His Anointing - take control of your life. This is really what it means to receive Jesus as your Lord not just Savior alone. Let Him be the Master of your life, family, marriage, finances, business, etc. It is like living in a two bedroom flat all by yourself. One day you heard a knock on your door, who did you find when you opened the door? The devil. That night he gave you terrible beatings. The next day, you asked Jesus to

come into your house. He did. You did not know what you did when you gave Him the guest room to live in. That night there was a knock on the door again. Since you had the keys to the door you opened it yourself. Guess what? It was Mr. Devil again. And, oh the beatings he gave you that night. In the morning, you were very furious with Jesus. As you entered His room, I mean your guest room where you asked Him to live. You confronted Him with the question, why did you not do anything to Mr. Devil last night? His answer was simple. You had the keys to the house. The keys give you authority to open and close the door. He said, if I had it, I would be responsible for whatever happens to you. Wow! You did not know that. So, you handed the keys to Jesus. That night Mr. Devil visited. Since you no longer had the keys, you slept peacefully. As soon as Jesus opened the door, Mr. Devil said, O sorry to disturb, I must have knocked the wrong door. Do you know what? That was the last night Mr. Devil will ever visit your house because Jesus now has the keys - the power and authority over your life. Alleluia! From the moment you were delivered, make Jesus the Lord of your life. Surrender the totality of your being to Him. Let Him be Lord. You will learn daily to dedicate yourself to Him. You will learn to yield yourself to Him as an instrument of righteousness. Yield every member of your body that was once used by the devil, now yield them to Christ. Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions. Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness. For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy]. Romans 6:12-14. Now that you are a Christian, one who is constantly in touch with Christ, you will learn to stay in touch with Christ. This is what it means to abide in Christ. Remain under the protective covering of Christ. Be productive as you

receive nutrition from your Source, Jesus Christ. Let Him be your role model and mentor. Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. John 15:4. One of the ways to stay connected is to have a passion to know Him personally and intimately. Develop an undying and an unquenchable desire just to see and please Jesus Christ even when you may have to disconnect from some people, places and programmes. How do you get to know him? It is through private times of prayers and study of the Bible. Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You [progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with You, perceiving and recognizing and understanding more strongly and clearly] and that I may find favor in Your sight. And [Lord, do] consider that this nation is Your people. Exodus 33:13. [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]. Philippians 3:10. As you spend time in your private prayer times, open up yourself to the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you more and more. No man can know Jesus except by revelation from the Father Himself. When it comes directly from God, it cannot be distorted. It will be real and right. At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.

"Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Matthew 11:25-27. (New King James Version) See yourself as His baby full of adventure and passion to know Him. Only when you relate to Him as a baby will you avail yourself of the precious moments of discovering Him. Approach him with child-like innocence. Obey Him with child-like confidence. This is so important because some things He will reveal to you will be stupid to logic. And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all]. Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3, 4. Desire to know God as you spend time studying the Bible. Where else can you find God except in His word - the Bible! The Bible is not a book of history of some people or places. It is not a literature. It is God Himself being revealed to logical minds. Desire it for every decision you must make. Desire it for the next action to take. Desire it to be your guiding principle. Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation. 1 Peter 2:2. If you dont have a Bible, make the effort to get one for yourself. When you have, write in its front page: THIS BOOK WILL KEEP ME AWAY FROM SIN, SICKNESS, SORROWS AND SATAN OR THEY WILL KEEP ME AWAY FROM THIS BOOK. When you see that every time you open the Bible, you want to read it so that THEY will not keep you away from it. The number two way to stay connected to Christ is to develop an undying and infectious passion to make Christ known to others. If there is any reason why you were delivered at all, this is it: it is so that you can talk about deliverance to those who are still suffering under the yokes of bondage. You

were delivered to deliver those who are still bound. How? By talking about your experience. Share your testimony ceaselessly. Talk about it in your office. Talk about Jesus with such a passion that your hearers cannot resist him. Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain, But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren. Luke 22:31,32. Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God. 2 Corinthians 1:4. Now that you have joined the great cloud of witnesses of what can happen to anyone who surrenders to Christ, you will do well to talk about it. Someone needs to hear your testimony. One thing this does is that it helps you to stay dependent on Christ as you unclutter yourself of every thing that would set you backward in your relationship with Christ. The enemy would not want you to share your testimony so that they can set you back. But when you become bold to share your testimony, you will set them back. You will overcome. THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1. Every time you talk about Christ and what He did for you, you conquer Satan and his demon cohorts. This is exciting. I want to whip the devil every moment. How can I do that? Just talk about Jesus all the time. Every opportunity is a winning one for you if Jesus is your number one. And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the

Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing]. Revelation 12:11.

WHY I CHOSE JESUS CHRIST? Someone asked me many years ago, Mike, why did you accept Jesus Christ? I could have become an atheist, a Muslim, etc. Why Jesus Christ? My answer to that question is for basically three reasons and the fourth one will blow your mind. One, I accepted Jesus Christ because I needed a Father. A father is a life source. That means you came from him. According to the law of sustenance, you can only be sustained by your source. Fish came out of water and thus can only be sustained in a water environment. If you put it on land, no matter how nice looking, it will die in no distant time. I realized that God is my Source. I can only be sustained by Him. I discovered that I couldnt have a personal relationship with Him through any other one or way except through Jesus Christ. John 14:6. Acts 4:12. Like a fish out of water in a land environment, you and I continue to struggle to survive until we reconnect with our natural habitat or source. This is God your Father. This happens only through Jesus Christ. You will never be fulfilled or become eternally relevant until you accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your personal Lord and Master. Then will you be able to connect with God your Source. Then will you know what it means to be sustained by the grace of God. Two, I accepted Jesus Christ because I needed a friend. Man was designed to relate with his environment and people. No body can survive as an island. You will need friends in your life. For me, it is very easy to make friends. As I grew up, my life became messed up by the friends I had. Friends betrayed me. Some battered me. Yet some others left me each time after our relationship with bruises. The marks will always be there. It was my search unknown to me for the real friend that got me into such relationships. I did not know about the Friend that sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24. Friends have scorned me like they did Job. Jobs friends turned aside from him (Job 6:18). They laughed him to scorn (Job 12:4). He was such a laughing stock that his eyes poured out tears to God (Job 16:20). His kinfolks failed him. His friends forgot him (Job 19:14). I have been there.

I needed a friend who will love me the way I am. I found this Friend in Jesus. He is God who became Abrahams Friend (Gen. 18:17. 2 Chron. 20:7). What a Friend He was to Abraham that even when Abraham lied about his wife, God rebuked the king to restore Abrahams wife (Gen. 12:10-20. 20:1-18.). A true friend will be there for you in good times and bad ones. Jesus is the best Friend I have ever had in my life (John 15:14). You will never know a true friend outside of Jesus Christ. Your parents? Spouse? Relatives? Classmates? Colleagues? I choose Jesus Christ because He will be there for me all the time. He said so and I believe Him. Three, I needed a future. Life is past, present and future. I have seen the past, it was both good and bad. I cannot do anything about it. It is gone forever. I failed in the past. I did all the bad things in the past. But it is gone leaving me with the consequences of my wrong choices and deeds. Now I am in the present. What can I do to make the difference for my future? This is what I am concerned with today. I discovered that it is only in Jesus Christ that His precious blood washes my past away. My today is secured with His everabiding presence because He is a very present help. My tomorrow is taken care of because He told me not to worry about it. I have a beautiful future in Jesus Christ because of what He did for me at the cross. I sinned and deserved to die. He took my sins and died in my place. In exchange, He gave me His very life, abundant life. The fourth reason is that He changed my life. Religion tries to change people by principles, philosophies and practices. But Jesus came into my life without Him putting any demands on me to do things to earn His forgiveness. All He asked from me was to believe and receive Him. I did and found that my life is just changing everyday. When I started this journey, I did not look like what I am today. I am not the same everyday. I can assure you that by tomorrow I will become better. Until the day when I shall be changed permanently at the sound of the trump of God. From that point, I will put on immortality and incorruption. Sin shall never have dominion over me for all eternity. Is this not the kind of life you really desire from the deepest part of your being? Today, my friend, you must make up your mind to receive Jesus Christ or reject Him. It is your choice. If you want to choose Jesus Christ, it is easy. Just say out loud:

Jesus, I believe you came to this world because You love me. Your love constrained You to the cross where You died for my sins to be forgiven me. Jesus, I believe. Come into my heart today. Wash me with Your precious blood. Make me a new person whose love and passion will be for You the rest of my life on earth. Jesus, You are the Lord of my life from this day forward. Thank You for saving me in Jesus name. Amen.
