    Zikerrion Baker,
    Minden, DL, Sr.
    Mindens run defense made
    one of the seasons most impressive stands back in September,
    stopping Devin White and
    North Webster from getting
    into the end zone for a game-tying touchdown on four tries
    from inside the 5-yard line. The
    Crimson Tide defense had its ups
    and downs this season, but Baker consistently made plays from
    his defensive end position to
    earn co-District 1-4A MVP honors after finishing with 103 tackles, including five sacks.

    Delmonte Hall,
    North DeSoto, RB, Sr.
    Three running backs shared the
    ball in North DeSotos grinding, methodical offense, and quarterback
    Kyler Radford ran for more than
    700 yards as well. That limited Delmonte Hall to 133 carries, but he
    made the most of them, averaging
    6.5 yards per rush. The speedy, elusive senior still hoping to catch the
    eye of Division I recruiters had 22 receptions for 288 yards to go along
    with his 860 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground.

    A year removed from sharing the District
    1-4A title, the Crimson Tide nearly accomplished the feat again. But an unfortunate
    loss to Benton on a late fumble couldnt stop
    Minden from putting together another impressive season, which began with taking
    Haughton to the wire and beating then-3A
    No. 1North Webster, both without star receiver LJarius Sneed. Heards team could have
    gone further than the second round of the
    playoffs if not for a blocked extra point to
    prevent overtime, and his coaching prowess
    will be tested again next season with the loss
    of several key seniors.
