77 Tithes and Offerings Scriptures

1. Genesis 14:19–20
And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor
of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your
enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

2. Genesis 28:20–22
Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me in this
way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, so that I come
again to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God, and this
stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God’s house. And of all that you
give me I will give a full tenth to you.”

3. Exodus 25:2
Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every
man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.

4. Leviticus 25:35–37
If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall
support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with
you. Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother
may live beside you. You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him
your food for profit. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of
Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

5. Leviticus 27:30–34
Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees,
is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord. If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe,
he shall add a fifth to it. And every tithe of herds and flocks, every tenth animal
of all that pass under the herdsman’s staff, shall be holy to the Lord.

One shall not differentiate between good or bad, neither shall he make a
substitute for it; and if he does substitute for it, then both it and the substitute
shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.”
6. Numbers 18:21
To the Levites I have given every tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for
their service that they do, their service in the tent of meeting.

7. Numbers 18:26
Moreover, you shall speak and say to the Levites, ‘When you take from the
people of Israel the tithe that I have given you from them for your inheritance,
then you shall present a contribution from it to the Lord, a tithe of the tithe.

8. Deuteronomy 8:17-18
Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have
gotten me this wealth.’

You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get
wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is
this day.
9. Deuteronomy 12:5–6
But you shall seek the place that the Lord your God will choose out of all your
tribes to put his name and make his habitation there. There you shall go, and
there you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the
contribution that you present, your vow offerings, your freewill offerings, and the
firstborn of your herd and of your flock.

10. Deuteronomy 14:22


You shall tithe all the yield of your seed that comes from the field year by year.
And before the Lord your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name
dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil,
and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the Lord your
God always.

At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in
the same year and lay it up within your towns. And the Levite, because he has no
portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow,
who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that the Lord your
God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.
12. Deuteronomy 15:10
Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this
the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your
hand to.

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your
God which He has given you.

14. Deuteronomy 26:12


When you have finished paying all the tithe of your produce in the third year,
which is the year of tithing, giving it to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless,
and the widow, so that they may eat within your towns and be filled.

15. 1 Chronicles 29:9


Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made
their offering to the Lord with a whole heart, and King David also rejoiced
greatly.

And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to
the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the Law of the
Lord. As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in

field. And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

17. Nehemiah 10:35–37


We obligate ourselves to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of
all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord; also to bring to the
house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God, the
firstborn of our sons and of our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstborn
of our herds and of our flocks; and to bring the first of our dough, and our
contributions, the fruit of every tree, the wine and the oil, to the priests, to the
chambers of the house of our God; and to bring to the Levites the tithes from our
ground, for it is the Levites who collect the tithes in all our towns where we
labour.
18. Nehemiah 12:44
On that day men were appointed over the storerooms, the contributions, the
firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the Law for
the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns, for Judah
rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.

19. Psalm 41:1–3


Blessed is the one who considers the poor!
In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;
the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land;
you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
The Lord sustains him on his sickbed;
in his illness you restore him to full health.

Honour the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;
then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with

robbing me, the whole nation of you.

nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of

Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother
has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your
way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen
by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the
hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by
others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to
the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that
your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward
you.

34. Matthew 6:19–21


Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and
where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and
multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham
returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, and to him Abraham
apportioned a tenth part of everything. He is first, by translation of his name,
king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace.
