ONE
CHARACTER GROUPS
NICK GROUP: LOCATED ON THE CARPET
The author said that Mrs. Granger was smaller than most but
seemed like a giant. After reading page ten, discuss why did the
author choose to use this language to describe Mrs. Granger and
how does it contribute to the story.
2. Even though, Mrs. Granger a fifth grade teacher was small, what
made her look giant?
After finished reading page 19, discuss how you would feel if you
were assigned a research paper on the first day of school?
After reading page 21, predict and discuss what you think Nick
could be up to. If you were in his shoes and looking to find an
alternative to a book report, what would you do?
After reading page 23, discuss how you think Nick is feeling and
why he might feel the way he does. How would you feel if you were
Nick in the same situation.

a nationwide phenomena. If you were in Nick's shoes watching all of
the news reports on TV, how would you feel?
After reading page 78, talk about how "frindle" has now become a
nationwide concept. Do you think things will ever be the same again
for Nick? Why or why not?
