guide questions for your presentation.

1. What is the intellectual revolution all about?

 My views regarding to the intellectual revolution, it showed how our society was
transformed by science and technology and it has a large substantial responsibility to our
modern life. Events that happened which they discover from 16 th to 20th century until
now, scientist still seek for new discoveries about our universe. They take lot of time to
make new research from what will be the impact of this to our society and answers all
the, what if’s that we wanted to answer until now. I chose Nicolas Copernicus’s theory
called Heliocentric it’s about his theory that every planet, including earth, revolved
around the sun and the earth rotates daily on its axis and the earth’s motion affected what
people saw in the heavens.

2. Who are the key figures in the revolution?

 There’s no doubt that Nicolaus Copernicus, Charles Darwin, and Sigmund Freud are the
three key figures in the revolution

3. How did the revolution advance modern science and scientific thinking at the time?
 The advancement of Copernican revolution to the scientific thinking at that time I think
it’s the Copernican revolution was the paradigm shift from the Ptolemaic model of the
heavens, which described the cosmos as having earth stationary at the center of the
universe, to the heliocentric model with the sun at the center of the solar system. It has a
large impact back then until now whenever we talk about the universe.
4. What controversies met the revolution?
 People did not believe the research made by Nicolas Copernicus since he did not have the
tools to prove his theories so the church’s views reflect a hard look at his idea about the
universe. The church accuse him of heresy because of his perception about the
Copernican Revolution that the church think it was against the bible and it was changing
the ideas of the people around our universe in the past also they’ve tried to ruined the
idea because it lacks information but eventually the scientist accepted the said theory.
