    ODU OGBE OYEKU (OGBEYEKU)

    Ogbe Oyeku is the leader among “OMO ODU”.
    IFA says the marriage between Ogbe Meji and Oyeku Meji, (the male and the female
    vibration) gave birth to Ogbe Oyeku, the first born of all creation or the first born of the two
    most dynamic vibrations in existence.

    It is the most important Odu after the 16 basic or Oju Odu. It occupies the most important
    position in the committee of Odu. IFA says it is the connecting link between the past and
    the present, between the whole and the part, between love and hate, between the stronger
    and the weaker, between light and darkness.

    IFA says, the most important step towards progress and prosperity under this Odu is the
    mindset to choose the right path, right people and right friends. Most friends are just mere
    companion, while few are good advisers that advise us to live a good life worthy of
    emulation. Some friend do give evil orientation and mischievous advice and information as
    evil communication corrupts good manners.

    OGBE OYEKU speaks of good character, and patience. IFA says that our belief in destiny
    should not blind us from our faith in good character. Divinities, deities and the host of
    heaven want us to seek good character, shun anger, bad habit, and other immoral
    behaviors. We should always strife for honesty and be patient. According to IFA verse:

    Ibinu ko da nkankan,
    Fun mi ni suru baba iwa
    Agba to ni suuru
    Ohun gbogbo lo ni
    A dafa fun Orunmila
    Ifa nsowo lo iwo ate
    Iya ti ifa Orunmila je ni iwo lo bako, lo ba boo

    Translation
    Anger will not help the soul
    Patience is the father of good character
    Whoever is blessed with patience
    Have everything
    When an old man is blessed with patience
    He will enjoy the earthly blessing
    This divine IFA oracle for ORUNMILA BABA AGBONNIREGUN
    When he was taking the act of IFA divination to the city of IWO

    The suffering (Iya) of IFA at Iwo, (from where the word IYA-IWO — IYAWO translated to the
    suffering at IWO which literarily means wife, that is, the suffering associated with marriage,
    no marriage is free from suffering) led to sound experience and good reward.

    OGBE OYEKU speaks of maturity, wisdom of the old, equilibrium and sound health. The
    vibration serves as catalyst towards building a stronger, efficient and dynamic life based on
    spiritual laws of GOD. The ODU speaks of commitment to IFA philosophy, principles, rules
    and regulation. Whenever, we are confronted with the challenges of life and IFA is consulted
    to get spiritual advice, if OGBE- OYEKU appears, IFA will instruct us to bring money, cloth,
    rat, fish, palm oil, and food for sacrifice. The sacrifice will be to one and only,- “ESU
    ELEGBARA”. ESU will bring before the heavenly spiritual doom, the remnants of sacrifice to
    alleviate the suffering or the problem of such individual. Remember that spiritual steps are
    to put off all evil vibrations and turn on the light of our wisdom and indwelling power to
    eliminate every darkness and blockage from our lives
