The time traveler’s Wife

A funny, often poignant tale of boy meets girl with a twist:

what if one of them couldn't stop slipping in and out of
time? Highly original and imaginative, this debut novel
raises questions about life, love, and the effects of time on
relationships. This is “The Time Travelers’s Wife.” The
time traveler’s Wife is a romantic science fiction and was
made by Audrey Niffenegger. The story is about Clare, a
beautiful art student, and Henry, an adventuresome
librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six
and Henry was thirty-six and were married when Clare
was twenty-three and Henry thirty-one. Impossible but
true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed
with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his
genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in
time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his life,
past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his
experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and
amusing.

I liked how Clare and Henry tries to make the best out of their
relationship, despite Henry having a unique gene that lets him
involuntarily travel through time. Giving Clare a hard time to
cope with. It is said that the author Audrey Niffenegger who was
frustrated in love when she began the novel, she wrote this story
as a metaphor for her failed relationships. This is also one of the
reasons why I liked this novel, because it shows the author’s
backstory metaphorically and how she managed to carry on with
his life even if she had many failed relationships in the past.

And what I don’t like about the story is how Henry always travel
through time without any clothing and some part of the story
was a little inappropriate.

I enjoyed how Clare would always have faith in Henry and will
always believe that he will come back; in fact in the novel, it is
said that Clare was still waiting for Henry even if she was in the
end of her life, however Henry still showed up and hold Clare’s
hand until her last breath.

Basic Info:
The novel is entitled, Time Traveler’s Wife, a book written by
Audrey Niffenegger. The novel’s genre is romance and science
fiction. She wrote this novel to share her imaginative thought on
what happens if a man with a ‘chrono-displacement order’ or a
man that slips through time involuntarily, fell in love with a
young lady who is in love with letters, poems, and paintings.
The illustration on the cover is depicted from a scene where the
young Clare see the old Henry as he slipped through time. It was
their first encounter and Henry told young Clare everything
about him and the clothes in the cover tells how Henry slips
through time without anything on, because unfortunately
garments can’t travel through time.
The least thing that I don’t like about the cover is that it may be
confused by the non-readers that it might be a social/mental
problem about pedophilia, since the cover shows the young
Clare and those adult clothes for Henry.
My mother who happened to finish the novel and the movie,
said that this may be the sweetest love story out there. As this
tackle about patience and all the things that serves as the
foundation of love. I was informed that the poems and
symbolisms in the novel would make me appreciate the novel
more. And of course, I would want to take a peek on how it’s
like to be a man who travels through time involuntarily.
