Esther & her

Forest Friends

Orsi Farkasvolgyi
@manuskacrochet
Welcome to my magic forest wonderland with Esther and her
friends!

Esther is an adorable young lady who loves spending time in

the forest near her home. She often takes a trip to meet her
friends, Otis, the owl, and Maud, the fawn. Oh, the chubby trio
can't be missed, of course. Rabbit, Bear, and Mr. Fox are always
there to have a little chat about the weather, books, baking, and
the cheeky squirrels of the forest.

Come, join their picnics, take one (or two) bites of Maud's
famous chocolate chip cookie, enjoy the fresh air, and forget all
about your troubles.

Love,
Orsi

Finished size and gauge

Esther is approximately 22 cm / 8.5 inches tall. Exact gauge is not necessary
for this project. Her measurements will change depending on the hook and
yarn you use. It’s important to crochet tight, to avoid the stuffing showing
up after filling.

Notes and abbreviations

The pattern is written in US American crochet terms. You will use these
stitches:

st = stitch BLO = back loops only

ch = chain FLO = front loops only
sl st = slip stitch rep = repeat
sc = single crochet cont = continue
hdc = half double crochet inc = increase
dc = double crochet dec = decrease
sk = skip

Invisible decrease: A method of decreasing. Insert hook into the front loop
of the next two stitches and pull a loop up through both. Yarn over and pull
through last two loops left on the hook.

Esther is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise instructed.

Stitch marker (I use yarn) 388 Rust
Fiberfill stuffing 401 Dark Teal
10 mm safety eyes 512 Lime
- Scheepjes Catona
106 Snow White

Finished size and gauge

Otis is approximately 19 cm / 7.5 inches tall. Exact gauge is not necessary for
this project. His measurements will change depending on the hook and yarn
you use. It’s important to crochet tight, to avoid the stuffing showing up
after filling.

Notes and abbreviations

The pattern is written in US American crochet terms. You will use these
stitches:

st = stitch BLO = back loops only

ch = chain FLO = front loops only
sl st = slip stitch rep = repeat
sc = single crochet cont = continue
hdc = half double crochet inc = increase
dc = double crochet dec = decrease
sk = skip

Invisible decrease: A method of decreasing. Insert hook into the front loop of
the next two stitches and pull a loop up through both. Yarn over and pull
through last two loops left on the hook.

Popcorn stitch: Crochet 5 double crochet into the same stitch. Drop the loop,
and insert the hook into the very first dc of the group. Then put the loop
back on to the hook and pull through.

Otis is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise instructed.
