Elon Musk Work
Elon Musk Work
Elon is best known for being CEO of Tesla and spacex, but he can be considered a
scientist because he has several degrees in the field.
In 1982, at the age of 11, he created his own video game, which was later sold to a South
African company for $ 500. He earned a degree in economics from the University of
Pennsylvania and a year later earned a degree in physics. He moved to California and
founded Zip2, a company that developed content for news portals. In 1999, the company
was bought by Compaq for $ 307 million and 34 million in shares.
With $ 100 million of his initial fortune, Musk founded Space Exploration Technologies, or
SpaceX, in May 2002. He is the executive director and chief technology officer (CTO) of the
company based in Hawthorne, California. SpaceX develops and manufactures space
launch vehicles with a focus on advancing the state of rocket technology. The company's
first two launch vehicles are the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 rockets (an homage to the Star
Wars Millennium Falcon) and its first spacecraft is the Dragon.
Working with NASA, Elon came to believe that humanity must have another option in the
event of a global catastrophe, investing in the colonization of Mars. In September 2015, he
declared that bombing the red planet with nuclear weapons would be the fastest way to
make it habitable and more like the Earth, melting the polar caps and releasing the carbon
dioxide accumulated under the surface, which would stimulate the greenhouse effect and
would make the planet warmer. He later said that he would not really do that. In September
2016, he announced a plan to take humans and establish a colony on Mars.
Tesla founded in July 2003 as Tesla Motors, the company's name is a tribute to inventor
and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla. Elon Musk, who contributed most of the funding in the
early days, has served as CEO since 2008. According to Musk, the purpose of Tesla is to
help expedite the move to sustainable transport and energy, obtained through electric
vehicles and solar power.
