ABSTRACT :
In this electronics project , we have created a digital door lock
that is controlled using a basic controller, the 8051
microcontrollers. The aim of this is to understand the
fundamental working principle behind a digital door lock.
.

2
INTRODUCTION :
Various control systems have been designed over the years to
prevent access to unauthorized user.Automatic door system have
become a standard feature on many different types of buildings
and homes. And they are becoming popular every day to develop
an effective electronic devices which provide security. The main aim
for providing locks for our home, school, office, and building is for
security of our lives and property. It is therefore important to have
convenient way of achieving this goal.

PROBLEM STATEMENT :

3
• At these times, all human beings have a place of their own in
which they keep their property with the help of locks to limit
the penetration of their personal property or privacy, but
there are many defects in these locks, such as easy
penetration poor security, and the difficulty of dealing with
the lock-in one way, which is the traditional key and there is
no other way.

4
Components :
• Atmel microcontroller 8051 (AT89C51)
• BUTTON

• Push pull four channel driver(L293D)

• MOTOR-DC

Applications and future scope:
The above proposed system can have a large number of
applications due to its practicality and its security aspect.
Some of them are:

• Can be used for doors at Home and Offices

• Can be used for Industrial doors

• Can be used for high security Bank vault doors
• And practically any place where remote controlling is
required

8
• For future scope, the device can be paired with a CCTV
module to enhance the security. Additional Face
Recognition can be installed

Advantages:
• It’s fast and easy

• Consumes less power.

• Components are easily available.

9
Limitations :
• Powered by electricity may not function properly in the case
of a power failure.

Conclusion :
• The proposed system allows remote access to lock or unlock
the door without physical user interaction.

10
• The system has minimum requirements for hardware and
supports customization of keys.
