Stuff the first half of the arms lightly but leave the second half empty. Crochet the sides
together with 5sc, fasten off, leaving a very long yarntail on one of the arms in order to
sew them both onto the body later. Weave in the yarntail on the second arm.

sew the ear onto the head.

Fasten off and leave a long yarntail in order to sew the antlers onto the head.
Scarf using Drops Lima light pink
The scarf is crocheted in rows. Depending on the yarn you use, you may need a few
more or a few less stitches in each row. It is advisable to check the length of the chain
around the deer’s neck before you continue crocheting. If you like, you can also add a
few more rows to the scarf, depending on what size you prefer.

2 (in the 2nd st from the hook) 25hdc, ch, turn 25
3-4 (2 rnds) 25hdc in the gaps of the previous hdcs, ch, turn 25
Fasten off, leaving a long yarntail. Put the scarf around the deer’s neck and sew the two
sides together. Weave in the ends.

Assembling Flora the fawn

1. Using the yarntail left on the body, sew the head to the body. The head shoud dip to
the front a little.

2. Using the very long yarntail on one of the arms, sew both arms to the body, using the
buttons (see picture). You may want to use crafting pliers to pull the needle out at the
sides (I find this much easier).
3. Sew the ears onto the head (I sewed them onto the rows 24-27, 13 stitches apart).
When you are happy with the position of the ears, sew the antlers onto the same rows,
leaving a space of 2 stitches between the ears and antlers.

4. Using catania in black, sew a cute nose between round two and three of the head. I
used a thinner yarn for the line below the nose.

5. Using Drops Lima in cream, stitch a few little patches onto the head. You can choose
how many and where they should be. The patches should be sewn over one stitch.

6. Wrap the scarf around the fawn’s neck and sew it together. If you want to, you can
make a little pompom, or if you prefer, leave it as it is
