NARRATIVE REPORT
(ISSC-CSC OATH TAKING CEREMONY)

I. Title

Name: Oath Taking Ceremony of Newly-Elected ISSC-CSC Officers

Date: May 12, 2021 8:00am-12:00NN

Venue: RSU Socio Cultural Hall, NWSSU-Main Campus

II. Rationale
The goal of the program is to formally install the newly elected student leaders of
Northwest Samar State University- Main for A.Y. 2021-2022 into their respective
offices.

III. Participants/People Involved

Students: New set of ISSC-CSC Officers, Student Electoral Board (SEB) members and
Officers, and Media Team from The Courier---The Official Student Publication of
NwSSU.

Faculty: Dr. Benjamin Pecayo, University President; Dr. Myra L. Pilpa, SAS Director;
Mr. Perpetuo Epilogo, ISSC Adviser – Main Campus; Dr. Fe Montecalvo, Dean,
College of Education (COEd); Dr. Amando Alviola, Dean, College of Arts and Sciences
(CAS); Dr. Francisco Bacamante, Dean, College of Computing and Information
Sciences (CCIS); Dr. Donald Patimo, Dean, College of Management (COM), and
Engr. Noemi Majait, Dean, College of Engineering and Technology (CET).

IV. Details of Activities

The program commenced with an opening prayer and singing of the national
anthem led by the officers from the Student Electoral Board (SEB). Rheamel V.
Peralta, the Master of Ceremony, called Dr. Myra Pilpa, SAS Director, for her
Opening Remarks. In the speech, Dr. Pilpa congratulated the new set of student
leaders and shared valuable tips and reminders on how to be an effective leader
especially, in this challenging situation we were currently facing. She also
encouraged the new set of ISSC and CSC officers to do their best in creating
significant changes in the studentry and University.
After the opening message of Dr. Myra Pilpa, the oath-taking ceremony for
Collegiate Student Council (CSC) started. Ms. Mildred Valdez, SEB Chairperson,
called the names of the new set of CSC Officers in each department along with their
respective positions and took their oath with the assistance of college deans,
namely: Dr. Fe Montecalvo for College of Education (COEd), Dr. Amando Alviola for
College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Dr. Francisco Bacamante for College of
Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS), Dr. Donald Patimo for College of
Management (COM), and Engr. Noemi Majait for College of Engineering and
Technology (CET).
Afterward, Dr. Myra Pilpa, SAS Director, distributes certificates and recognition to
the officers and members of the Student Electoral Board (SEB) for their tireless
efforts in making this year’s Institutional Supreme Student Council General Election
possible.
The program continued with an oath-taking of the newly-elected Institutional
Supreme Student Council (ISSC) officers. They were presented again by Ms. Mildred
Valdez, SEB Chairperson, and assisted by Dr. Benjamin Pecayo, University President.
For the closing remark of the program, Dr. Benjamin Pecayo, University
President, delivered his short but inspiring message for the newly elected ISSC-CSC
Officers. In his speech, he reminded the new set of student leaders to always be of
service and work hand-in-hand with the entire NwSSU community in achieving the
University’s Mission, Vision, and Core values.

V. Summary of Results
The program concluded successfully and was finished early at 10:30 am. Despite
the restrictions and difficulty of transportation, most of the new set of Officers still
able to attend the ceremony and took their oath wearing a complete uniform. The
students and faculties who present in the program were given snacks from the
Student Electoral Board (SEB).
