Chapter-II

Definition of Autobiography

An autobiography is the personal record of one’s own life, activities and memorable events. Obviously it is self-
written. The term autobiography is a combination of three Greek words- ‘auto’, that means self, ‘bio’ meaning life and
‘graph’ meaning writing. Hence an autobiography is a self- writing of one’s life. The term autobiography was first coined
in 1797 by William Taylor in the English Periodical ‘The Monthly review’. It is a separate literary genre and subjective
by nature.

Chapter-V
Conclusion
I have enjoyed the project work very much. I learnt how to record the past incidents in an interesting manner. I learnt
how to blend colour to certain common incidents through our imagination. I have also found this sort of writing as a great
means of ventilating my own ideas. I could never think that I would be able to complete the project writing successfully.
think for acquisition of the target language this sort of free writing with focus on fluency rather than on correctness is very
much helpful.
