After several years of reign, the region flourished in prosperity, but Roro
Anteng and Joko Seger were sad because they did not have a child. They
climbed to the top of the mountain and prayed there night and day hoping that
God would listen. The prayer was heard and Betoro Bromo promised to give
them many children. However, they had to promise that they would sacrifice
their youngest child in return.
Roro Anteng gave birth to a child, then another and another. In the end,
Roro Anteng and Joko Seger had 25 children. Soon it was time to sacrifice the
youngest child, Kusuma, but the parents could not do it. They tried to hide
him, but an eruption happened and Kusuma fell into the crater. There was
silence before they heard a voice. “I have to be sacrificed so that you will all
stay alive. From now on, you should arrange an annual offering ceremony on
the 14th of Kasodo (the twelfth month of the Tengerese calendar)”. It was
Kusuma’s voice. Kusuma’s brothers and sisters held the offering ceremony
every year. Instead of human beings, they collected fruits, vegetables, rice,
and meat to be offered to the Gods. And this has been done generation after
generation until today.

Sidi Mantra came to Naga Besukih. This time, Manik Angkeran secretly followed
Sidi Mantra.
A few days later, Manik Angkeran stole father’s genta then came to Naga
Besukih. Manik Angkeran got gold and diamonds. But he was not satisfied.
Manik Angkeran saw a big gem at the end of the dragon's tail. When Naga
Besukih turned toward a cave, Manik Angkeran immediately cut off the
dragon's tail then ran away.
Naga Besukih was furious then licked Manik Angkeran’s footprints. Then
he turned into ashes. Sidi Matra was aware of this situation; he begged Naga
Besukih to revive his son. Naga Besukih agreed if his tail was back. With magic,
Sidi Mantra returned the dragon's tail back to normal. Then, Naga Besukih
revived Manik Angkeran.
Sidi Mantra knew that he could not live with Manik Angkeran anymore.
With a magical wand, Sidi Mantra made a line that separated him from son.
There came springs growing into a sea. This is the legend of the Bali Strait
separating Java from Bali.

Sangkuriang grew overseas into a powerful handsome man. Then, he met

Sumbi realized that Sangkuriang was her son. Dayang Sumbi wanted to thwart
their marriage. She gave a condition to make a dam that covered the entire
hill and to make a boat during one night.
Sangkuriang then worked with the help of many genies. The dam and
boat were almost finished. Dayang Sumbi prayed to God. The roosters crowed
so all genies left that job. Sangkuriang realized that he had been tricked. He
was angry; he kicked that boat into the middle of a forest. Then, that boat was
shaped like a mountain. That is the legend of Tangkuban Parahu.

number of people infected with the corona virus is still increasing in our

Firstly, the violators will continue to ignore the health protocol suggested by the
government if they aren’t sanctioned. By being sanctioned, they will feel
deterred and ashamed so that in the future they will obey the rules given.
Secondly, by sanctioning the violators, they will understand responsibility. Not
only does it prevent us from being infected by the virus, but adhering to health
protocols also keeps others safe. We may not feel infected, but at least we
