MY LAST DAY AT COLLEGE

Things end. But memories last forever!

The 31st of March was my last day at the college. After one month, the examination would
start. I was feeling mixed pleasure – happy and sad at the same time. One the one side, I
felt relieved at the end of the academic year. I worked hard to achieve my goals for the last
two years. I had got 430 marks in the first part and was sure of getting excellent marks in
the second part. I wanted to become a doctor in future. The very feeling that I was now
nearer to my destination made me happy. In this way, it was a day that meant a lot for me.
Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving toward your
goals
On the other side, it was the moment of parting. The pleasant days of the past came to my
mind and their remembrance made me sad. I recollected my first day at the college. When I
fell a prey to the joking and fooling of the senior students. After one year, I was myself a
senior boy and played many jokes on first-year students. The sweet memories of the two
years began to glitter in my mind. There was a smile on my lips and tears in my eyes.

The two best days of college - the first and the last.

In our college, there is a tradition that the junior students give a farewell party to the senior
outgoing students. The last day in the college is made a memorable occasion for them.
According to the tradition of the college, the students of the first year class organized a
splendid function under the supervision of a senior professor. The college was decorated
with buntings and flags. First of all, we assembled in the lawn of the college for a group
photograph. Then, we went to the college hall for further activities.
College: Making memories of a lifetime with people you will never
ever forget.
I reached the college and met my beloved friends who were now ready to be separated. I
had a slight talk with each of them and then we took nice photos of various portions of our
college. I took some photos of the library, my classroom, canteen and Computer lab. All
these things and everything of my college fascinated me on that day. I had strange feelings
on that day; it was neither joy nor sadness.
How lucky I am to have friends that make saying goodbye so hard.
Now the stage was ready with a farewell ceremony in our honor. We all reached the
venue and had our seats. A boy from our juniors recited the verses of the Holy Quran to
give a noble start to the function. Sir was the host. He spoke so well on that day. He is
known for his fluent accent and occasion-specific poetry. He is a good orator. That day, he
surprised us by singing to us his own poems.

The last day of college is the day we realize what we’re going to
miss most about not being in school anymore.
The representative of the first year class made a farewell speech. He paid thanks to the
second year students for their co-operation and guidance. He pledged to follow the foot-
prints of the seniors. I, on behalf of my class fellows, made a speech. I paid thanks to the
teachers for their tireless and selfless efforts to enlighten the minds of the students. I also
appreciated the first year students for arranging such a splendid function in the honour of
the outgoing senior students. I made a promise that the send year students would burn the
midnight oil to brighten the name of the college.
Always remember that your work is only part of your life.

Then the worthy principal made an elegant speech. We were anxious and were eagerly
waiting for the principal to speak. He advised us to perform our duties honestly as a student
and as a citizen of the civil society. In the end, our principal gave us his blessings and wished
us success in our future career. It was an inspiring and memorable speech. All the students
clapped when he finished his speech.
No matter how much you hate college - you will miss it when you
leave.
The formal speeches were followed by a variety show. It was organized for the
entertainment of the students and guests. The students performed a few fun-fair items. At
the end of the show, we were served with tea, biscuits, cakes and fruit. The farewell party
was a great success in every respect.
The last day of college is a special day. You’ve been through so
much, and you’re leaving it all behind.

It was the end of a splendid span of two years at my college. I had spent a lot of happy time
there. I took part in debates and sports actively and won many prizes. Some of my teachers
greatly influenced me and enlightened my outlook. I also make a few new friends whose
nice company was unforgettable for me.
We came as strangers - We leave as friends.

After the meal was over, we met our professors one by one. They all were friendly and
helpful. They gave us tips and guidance for future life and career planning. They all gave us
many important pieces of advice. We all thanked them. We also met our juniors and
thanked them for the superb farewell.

College days fill maximum colors to the life’s journey in the form of
lessons.

The last day at my college was, indeed, a memorable day in my life. All the outgoing
students took leave of their teachers and friends with heavy hearts. When I was leaving my
college, I was not feeling well while returning home. I could not sleep that night. The tears
were falling from my eyes when I was trying to sleep amidst the painful fact that the college
period had finished.
Instead of being sad for saying ‘goodbye,’ be happy that you made
some awesome memories and cherish them forever.
