When the people are gathered, the Priest approaches the altar with the
ministers, while the Entrance Chant is sung.

When the Presider comes to the altar, he makes the customary reverence
with the ministers and kisses it.

Greeting

Priest: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

People:Amen.

Priest: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit
be with you all.

People:And with your spirit.

Priest:My dear EMMANUELLE and CHARM,

and brothers and sisters in Christ,
we are gathered today to celebrate God’s love for us.
We experienced this love in the history of our salvation:
in his wonderful coming as one like us,
2

and in his giving of himself on the cross.

We experience God’s love also in our personal histories,
in the love of family and friends,
and in a special way,
in the love between husband and wife.
We gather today for the marriage of EMMANUELLE and CHARM,
in this celebration of the Holy Eucharist
- the Sacrament of love.
In these two sacraments,
we enter into the mystery of God’s love,
a love that unites, a love that gives joy, peace and life,
and a love that is lived daily
in the vocation of married life.

The Penitential Rite is omitted. After the Greeting, the Gloria follows.

Gloria
Priest: Glory to God in the highest.

All: And on earth peace to people of good will.

We praise you,
we bless you,
we adore you,
we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King,
O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,

Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,

you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High,
3

Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

Opening Prayer

Priest: Let us pray.

Be attentive to our prayers, O Lord,

and in your kindness uphold
what you have established
for the increase of the human race,
so that the union you have created
may be kept safe by your assistance.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

All:Amen.

Commentator: Please be seated.

Reader:A reading from
the Book of Genesis

Then God said:

“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
the birds of the air, and the cattle,
and over all the wild animals
and all the creatures that crawl on the ground.”
God created man in his image;
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
God blessed them, saying:
4

“Be fertile and multiply;

fill the earth and subdue it.
Have dominion over the fish of the sea,
the birds of the air,
and all the living things that move on the earth.”
God looked at everything he had made,
and he found it very good.

who is our help and our shield,
For in Him our hearts rejoice;
in His holy name we trust.

Second Reading Colossians 3:12-17

B5FC41991BBDF 3623 roman aris
Reader: A reading from
the first letter of Paul to the Colossians

Because you are God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves
with heartfelt mercy, with kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear
with one another; forgive whatever grievances you have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you. Over all these virtues, put on love,
which binds the rest together and makes them perfect. Christ's peace must
reign in your hearts, since as members of the one body you have been called
to that peace. Dedicate yourselves to thankfulness. Let the word of Christ,
rich as it is, dwell in you. In wisdom made perfect, instruct and admonish
one another. Sing gratefully to God from your hearts in psalms, hymns, and
inspired songs. Whatever you do, whether in speech or in action, do it in the
name of the Lord Jesus. Give thanks to God the Father through Him.

your love with an eternal bond before the Church. I assure you of the prayers
of our community that God may pour His abundant blessings on your love

Then the Priest addresses the community:

Priest: And you, dear brothers and sisters, may I ask you to help them with
your prayers and accept them as a new couple in our Christian community.
7

Scrutiny
The Priest addresses the couple:

Priest: May I now ask you to answer truthfully the following questions.

The Priest questions them about their freedom of choice, faithfulness to each

bind yourself forever in the love and service of your husband?

Bride: Yes, Father.

will to bind yourself forever in the love and service of your wife?

Groom: Yes, Father.

whom God will give you?

Both: Yes, Father.

Exchange of Consent

Priest(to the couple): EMMAN and CHARM, since you wish to contract

before God and His Church.

They join their right hands.

First, the Priest asks the bride:

Priest: CHARM, do you take EMMAN here present, for your lawful
husband according to the rite of our holy Mother, the Church?

Bride: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you give yourself to him as his wife?

8

Bride: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you accept him as your lawful husband?

Bride: Yes, I do.

Then the Priest asks the bridegroom:

according to the rite of our Holy Mother, the Church?

Groom: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you give yourself to her as her husband?

Groom: Yes, I do.

from this day forward,
for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health, until death do us
part.”
Confirmation of the Marriage Bond

The Priest picks up the wedding rings from the tray and says:

Priest: Now give these rings to one another:

The groom takes the bride's ring from the Priest and puts it on the bride's
ring finger. The groom says:

Groom: CHARM / wear this ring / as a sign of my love and loyalty. /

In the name of the Father / and of the Son / and of the Holy Spirit.

Then the bride takes the groom's ring from the Priest and puts it on the

The Liturgy of the Eucharist

Preparation of the Altar and the Gifts
During the preparation of the gifts, the Offertory song is sung and the altar
table is prepared.
The Presider takes the paten with the bread and, holding it slightly raised
above the altar says:

Priest: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness
we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of
human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.

People: Blessed be God forever.

The deacon pours wine and a little water into the chalice saying inaudibly:

Priest: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness
we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human
12

hands, it will become our spiritual drink.

People: Blessed be God forever.

The Presider bows and says inaudibly:

With humble spirit and contrite heart

may we be accepted by you, O Lord,
and may our sacrifice in your sight this day
be pleasing to you, Lord God.

Next the Presider stands at the side of the altar and washes his hands saying
inaudibly:

Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity

and cleanse me from my sin.

Commentator: Please all rise.

Standing at the center of the altar, facing the people, he extends and then
joins his hands, saying:

Priest: Pray, brethren,

that my sacrifice and yours
may be acceptable to God,
the almighty Father.

People: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands

for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good and the good of all his holy Church.

Priest: Receive, we pray, O Lord,

the offering made on the occasion
of this sealing of the sacred bond of Marriage,
and, just as your goodness is its origin,
may your providence guide its course.
Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen

The Eucharistic Prayer

13

Priest: The Lord be with you.

People: And with your spirit.
Priest: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right and just.

Preface

Priest: It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
For you have forged the covenant of marriage
as a sweet yoke of harmony
and an unbreakable bond of peace,
so that chaste and fruitful love of holy Matrimony
may serve to increase the children you adopt as your own.
By your providence and grace, O lord,
you accomplish the wonder of this twofold design:
that, while the birth of children brings beauty to the world,
their rebirth in Baptism gives increase to the Church,
through Christ our Lord.
Through him, with the Angel and all the Saints,
we sing the hymn of your praise,
as without end we acclaim:

People: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Commentator:Please kneel.

Eucharistic Prayer II
You are indeed Holy, O Lord,
the fount of all holiness.

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,

by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
so that they may become for us
14

the Body and +Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed

and entered willingly into his Passion,
he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,
and gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,

FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

In a similar way, when supper was ended,

he took the chalice
and, once more giving thanks,
he gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,

FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

Commentator:Please all rise

Priest: The mystery of faith.

All: We proclaim your Death, O Lord,

and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.

Therefore, as we celebrate
the memorial of his Death and Resurrection,
we offer you, Lord,
the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy
to be in your presence and minister to you.

Humbly we pray that,

partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ,
we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
15

Remember, Lord, your Church,

spread throughout the world,
and bring her to the fullness of charity,
together with
Francis our Pope and Honesto our Bishopand all the clergy.

Be mindful also, Lord, of EMMAN and CHARM,

whom you have brought to their wedding day,
so that by your grace
they may abide in mutual love and in peace.

Remember also our brothers and sisters

who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
and all who have died in your mercy:
welcome them into the light of your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray,
that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with blessed Joseph, her spouse,
with the blessed Apostles,
and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life,
and may praise and glorify you
through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through him, and with him, and in him,

O God, almighty Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory and honor is yours,
for ever and ever.

All: Amen.

The Communion Rite

The Lord’s Prayer

Priest:At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to

say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
16

thy will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

The Nuptial Blessing

After the Our Father, the prayer Deliver us is omitted. The Priest, standing
and facing the bride and bridegroom, invokes upon them God’s blessing,
and this is never omitted.
The Priest, with hands joined, calls upon those present to pray, saying:

Let us humbly invoke by our prayers,

dear brothers and sisters,
God's blessing upon this bride and groom,
that in his kindness he may favor with his help
those on whom he has bestowed
the Sacrament of Matrimony.

And all pray in silence for a while.

Then the Presider, with hands extended over the bride and bridegroom,
continues:

Holy Father, maker of the whole world,

who created man and woman in your own image
and willed that their union be crowned with your blessing
we humbly beseech you for these your servants,
who are joined today in the Sacrament of Matrimony.

May your abundant blessing, Lord,

come down upon this bride, CHARM.,
and upon EMMAN., her companion for life,
and may the power of your Holy Spirit
set their hearts aflame from on high,
so that, living out together the gift of Matrimony,
they may (adorn their family with children
and) enrich the Church.
17

In happiness may they praise you, O Lord,

in sorrow may they seek you out;
may they have the joy of your presence
to assist them in their toil,
and know that you are near
to comfort them in their need;
let them pray to you in the holy assembly
and bear witness to you in the world,
and after a happy old age,
together with the circle of friends that surrounds them
may they come to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Through Christ our Lord.
People: Amen.

The Sign of Peace

Priest: The peace of the Lord be with you always.
People: And with your spirit.

Priest: Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

The Agnus Dei

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
grant us peace.

Commentator: Please kneel.

18

Private Preparation
Then the Priest, with hands joined, says quietly:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God,

who, by the will of the Father
and the work of the Holy Spirit,
through your Death gave life to the world,
free me by this, your most holy Body and Blood,
from all my sins and from every evil;
keep me always faithful to your commandments,
and never let me be parted from you.

Communion
The Priest genuflects, takes the host and, holding it slightly raised above the
paten or above the chalice, while facing the people, says aloud:

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God,

behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

All: Lord, I am not worthy

that you should enter under my roof,
but only say the word
and my soul shall be healed.

The Priest, facing the altar, says quietly:

May the Body of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.

And he reverently consumes the Body of Christ.

Then he takes the chalice and says quietly:

May the Blood of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.

And he reverently consumes the Blood of Christ.

19

After this, he takes the paten or ciborium and approaches the

communicants. The Priest raises a host slightly and shows it to each of the
communicants, saying:

The Body of Christ.

The communicant replies:

Amen.

While the Priest is receiving the Body of Christ, the Communion Chant begins. The veil
and the cord are removed after Holy Communion has been distributed.

Prayer After Communion

Priest: Let us pray.

By the power of this sacrifice, O Lord,

accompany with your loving favor
what in your providence you have instituted,
so as to make of one heart in love
those you have already joined in this holy union
and replenished with the one Bread and the one Chalice.
Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen
