Leopoldo Silos Sr.

Leopoldo Rido Silos Sr., also known as

Lepoldo Silos Sr., was a well-known
Filipino music composer, singer, and
arranger who composed the hit song
"Dahil Sa Isang Bulaklak (Because of
One Flower)" that embodies the truth of
affection.
On March 6, 1925, he was born in Manila, the Philippines' capital.
Many love songs, like "Hindi Kita Malimot (I Can't Forget You)," were
written and sung by him. As he developed as a famous composer,
many people fell in love with his works, which increased his
popularity, especially when it came to writing love songs. His
prolonged chords, reduced intervals, and secondary dominants
enhanced the attraction of his tunes. His songs usually leave an
impression on the listener because of their melodic authenticity and
elegantly designed accompaniments.
He was also the multi-award-winning musical director of the
enduring television musical Aawitan Kita, which featured Armida
Siguion-Reyna. The First (1st) Awit Awards, which honored the
musical accomplishments of 1968, were presented on March 23,
1969, in Makati. In the Local Division category, Solis earned the
prize for Best Instrumental Album.
He spent 28 years in the United States with his beloved wife,
Soledad "Choling" Garcia. They had seven children who lived in
honor of their father. After years of dedicating his life to composing
sentimental, deep compositions, Leopoldo Silos Sr. passed away on
March 10, 2015, at the age of 90. His composition remains a legend
in Philippine music history.
