HOW TO USE THE BAGGAGE ID CHART!

Recommended procedure of the WorldTracer Match Working Group

Carefully guide the passenger through the baggage ID chart in order to find the
correct definition of the bag. The correct colour, type and external descriptive
elements can be the difference between receiving the correct match or getting none.

Define the side of the chart

Ask if the passenger is missing luggage/bags or miscellaneous article and present
the applicable side of the chart.

Define the colour

Ask the passenger for the colour.
· If the colour is in question select the nearest defined colour and further describe in
the BI (brand name/outside identification) element.
Example: CT RD . and BI YY/PINK
· If baggage has more than one colour determine if MC or PR.
In this case give more details in the BI (brand name/outside identification) element.
Example MC: BI YY/BLACK AND RED / CANVAS
Example PR: BI LOUIS VUITTON/BROWN WITH LOUIS VUITTON LOGO

Define the type

· If miscellaneous article select the type that best describes the item.
· If luggage/bags:
F Ask if it closes with zipper (types 20-29) or without zipper (types 01-12) and
present the applicable portion of the chart.
F Ask if of horizontal or upright design and select the type that best describes the
bag.

Define the descriptive elements

Choose the descriptive elements in following order of priority:
1. Ask if the luggage/item is made of any of the material elements listed (D,L,M,R,T).
Select only one, if none of these apply then omit.
2. Ask the passenger about basic elements: if it is in cabin size (K) or a single item
in a box (B).
If none apply then omit.
3. Ask the passenger about other external elements (C, H, S, W) and select in
alphabetical order.
If none apply then omit.
If bag has less than 3 descriptive elements use to bring the total number of
elements to 3.
