Master Mark's recipe & 9-11 regenerative gardening rules

Testimony from an experienced growerr: "Hi josh, just wanted to give you and mark a
compliment. I did the same setup I do every year outdoor in a small greenhouse and it always
turns out great but inevitably there will be points where I'll have some deficiencies and have to
pull some lower leaves. With your regiment on soil prep alongside tea and seaweed and Brix, I
literally haven't had to pull one leaf off the plants ( and I'm anal about pulling any ugly leaves).
Thanks"

MASTER MARK’S SUPER SOIL PROGRAM (expanded for detail and clarity)

Success leaves clues. Follow the clues! Here is Master Mark’s highly successful soil program.

This is an Organic and Regenerative Soil Grow Program. It promotes Mycorrhizal Fungi
Symbiosis with the Cannabis Plant. It builds and sustains Microbiology in the plants and soil for
the best plant health and yield.

Super Soil Mix:

Fox Farm Ocean Forest (OF) soil is the base

Add the following ingredients by volume and blend thoroughly
20% Lazaris charcoal (Substitute Organic Solutions Super Char: Organicsolution.com)
20% large pumice (May substitute Hydrocorn or clay based Hydroponic grow media)
20% Premium worm castings (Organic Solution Premium Worm Castings: Organicsolution.com)
1-2 cups neem meal or cake per bag of Ocean Forest (Down To Earth Neem Seed Meal)
1-2 cups kelp meal per bag of Ocean Forest soil (Down To Earth Kelp Meal)

Additional Products and equipment:

A mild germination/veg soil mix (Fox Farm Happy Frog)

Boogie Brew Compost Tea (Boogiebrew.net)
Boogie Pure Protein (Fish Hydrolysate) (Boogiebrew.net)
Boogie Brix or Sucanat Raw Organic Sugar (Boogiebrew.net or Amazon for Sucanat)
Natures Pride Bloom Fertilizer
Old Age Liquid Kelp Fertilizer
Water dechlorinating filter (Boogiebrew.net)
Aerobic Compost Tea Brewer (several on the market or make your own)
Electrical Conductivity meter or probe (Blue Lab TRUNCHEON or equivalent)

Master Mark, (AKA the Boogie Master), is getting up to 3 pound yield per 1K of light by using
this super soil recipe, Boogie Brew tea, Nature's Pride top dressings and kelp-sugar water.

His soil is NO TILL and he does not hardly ever have to change it, even though it is in
containers and not raised beds. He just pulls the harvested cannabis plants and replants in the
same super soil. His flowering grow soil is Fox Farm Ocean & Forest with the additional
additives. Ocean Forest is readily available from almost any grow store and the nursery industry.

By leaving the soil in place, the soil bacteria and fungi continue to establish and mature. The
following grows are better that the first one. The soil microbiology improves over time in
undisturbed soils. With new soil, you are starting over each time reestablishing the
microbiological communities.

The only additional nutrients comes from the top dressing and Boogie Brew tea. Master Mark is
breaking all records including those he previously achieved using the liquid programs from
every major hydro vendor.

Besides breaking yield records, he is busting out massive terpene levels. The flavors are
through the
Roof! Unbelievable Flower and Bud quality!

Super Soil, Compost Tea and an occasional top dress. It is that simple to get fantastic plant
grows.

This grow program was developed with the above specified products. These products support
Mycorrhizal Fungi-Cannabis plant inoculation and symbiosis. This is a proven
Regenerative-Organic fertility program. It will support the plant completely from germination to
harvest without any other inputs. Feel free to substitute similar products (as we have above) for
your grow. Just follow the procedures outline below.

Germination and Vegetative Grow Program

For germinating and early vegetative phases, only use a mild soil mix. Start with a mild seedling
mix like Fox Farm Happy Frog. Then graduate every 10 days to 2 weeks into progressively
stronger soil mixes and bigger pots: 2-inch cups up to 1-gallon pots. One week before the bloom
phase, transplant into a 5 to 20 gallon size container filled with the full strength super-soil.

Start germination with Happy Frog (HF) in a plastic cup or starter cell. After 10 days to two
weeks after plant emergence, transplant to slightly stronger mix of 25% Ocean Forest (OF)-75%
HF in about a pint-sized container. After plant roots fill the pint and start binding, transplant to a
50-50 mix in a quart container. Again, after the plant roots fill the quart container, transplant to a
75% OF-25% HF blend in a 1/2 gallon. Continue to 100% Ocean Forest in a 1-gallon pot during
the vegetative/nursery phase. The last transplant is into the final grow container (5-20 gallon)
filled with the super soil blend. Keep these plants in the vegetative phase about a week for
growth and root development into the super soil. Then switch over to flower mode.

It is very important to gradually increase the soil strength and get the plants somewhat
root-bound before each successive transplant into the next larger pot. Mild starvation of younger
plants and getting them root-bound will make them "pop" into each successive soil mix with a
robust fury. Along the way, cull the small percentage of "weaklings" as this will guarantee a solid
canopy of super-plants by the time you are ready to flower.

As a general rule of thumb, double or triple the volume of the next container over the current
size while using this transplant progression. The plant’s roots will grow into the pots quickly as
the soil blends outlined above will support aggressive root expansion. You will end up in a one
or 2-gallon pot of full strength Ocean Forest soil with a robust plant in the final Veg stage.

You also may germinate in rock wool cubes or soil blocks if you like. Watch for the roots to fill
out the cube and start appearing at the sides and bottom. Transplant them into the soil pots.

You can also germinate in a flat of mild soil. After the plants get two true leaves, you can scoop
each one out and pot up starting the transplant succession.

Maintenance during the vegetative growing period

Every week spray plants and drench soil with Half Strength Boogie Brew Compost Tea. Every
other week, add Pure Protein (Boogie Brew Fish Hydrolysate) as directed to the tea brew. The
plant will absorb the nutrients, microbiology and protein that it wants. The drench feeds the soil
microbiology.

When doing weekly Compost Tea feedings, freely spray the leaves and stems with the diluted
tea along with a soil drench. The tea’s biology is tremendously beneficial for the plant’s leaves
and stems. They absorb the tea’s biology-nutrients. The plant will transport the absorbed
biology-nutrients to the roots for Exudates. Exudates feed the soil biology, which in turns
supplies the plants with soil nutrients.

Apply Boogie Brew Pure Protein every 2 weeks. The amino acids will continue to build plant
tissue growth. There is absolutely zero risk of burn with the Pure Protein as the nitrogen is all in
amino acid form. Plants will absorb the amino acids they need. The rest will biodegrade into
your soil and boost fertility.

In the Vegetative Growth phase, it is possible to get by WITHOUT any extra fertilizers as the
gradually stronger soils, along with diluted Boogie Brew teas and Pure Protein foliar feed should
easily furnish everything they need. However, if plants are growing aggressively between
transplant stages and running out of food; then do the following: Top dress with a veg-specific
fertilizer like Natures Pride Veg Fertilizer. Soak in with a full strength compost tea.

Chlorine, Chloramine and Fluorine are absolute microbiology killers. Filter water to remove
these chemicals. PH correct the water with an organic acid like vitamin c crystals if needed.
Only apply water that is at room temperature (65-75° F). Room Temperature water prevents
plant shock Add Age Old Kelp Liquid Fertilizer as directed.

Flower Stage Maintenance and Fertilization

Once a week, apply Full Strength Boogie Brew Compost Tea. Every other week add Pure
Protein Fish Hydrolysate to the tea brew. Spray the plant and drench the soil.

Water as needed with dechlorinated water at room temperature. Water only when the plants
need it. Let the soil dry down between the waterings. When watering, water to saturation with
run off.

Late in the flowering cycle (several weeks before harvest); Start adding Boogie Brew Brix or
Sucanat Organic Sugar to the water for carbohydrates. This will feed the soil microbiology. It
recharges them for the final run to harvest.

Mix 1/4 tsp of Brix or 1 tsp Sucanat per gallon of water. Add Sugar to compost tea after aeration
and before applying to plants. DO NOT ADD the sugar to the tea while brewing. It will overfeed
the tea’s biology. Like kids, too much sugar at the wrong time causes bad things to happen to
the microbiology in the tea brew.

Only use a supplementary top-dressing fertilizer when the plants are properly hungry. To
determine if the plants are hungry, measure the runoff of each plant with an electrical
conductivity (EC) probe or meter. The runoff should measure between 1100 to 2000 ppm (parts
per million).

If you measure and chart the readings after each watering, you will note a decline as the plant
grows bigger and is aggressively drawing nutrients from the soil.

When the EC reading reaches or drops below 1100 ppm, it is time to add a top dressing and
soak it in with a full strength compost tea. Top dress with Natures Pride Bloom Fertilizer at the
rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon of soil. A 5-gallon pot would be 5 tsp of fertilizer (7 tsp to 7gallon,
10 tsp to 10 gallon and so on).

Activate the top dress application by drenching with full strength Boogie Brew Compost Tea.
The fertilizer ingredients will subsequently melt into your soil. The compost tea biology will help
transform the top dressing fertilizer into highly usable organic plant food.

The next time you water after the top dress fertilizer, you will see a nice bump in the electrical
conductivity reading in the water run-off. There will be about a 900-ppm increase.

DO NOT APPPLY any further the top-dressing/full strength tea combo until there is another
significant DROP in the runoff water’s EC ppm. Typically, this will only be necessary a couple of
times in flowering phase.

We call this the 9-11 rule! When the EC drops to 1100, top dress fertilize and drench into the soil
with compost tea to bump it up 900. The new EC reading should be about 2000 ppm.

However, it is not strictly necessary to abide by the 900 and 1100 number ranges, those are just
examples of what we feel represent healthy run-off numbers with an EC ppm meter. Many folks
will go for higher ppm in general. We do not think that anything above 2100 ppm in total should
ever come out of even the strongest organic soil mix. Vegetative mixes should on half of these
numbers.

Continue the above practices until Harvest. Again, a few weeks before Harvest, add Boogie Brix
or Sucanat to your water to feed the soil microbiology. This helps them boost nutrient production
for the plant.

Excellent "helper agents", (to assist in both the digestion and delivery of food values to the
plants), are both activated bio-char and bokashi. Simply scratch-in a little of each when
applying the fertilizer dressings, (also referred to as "tickling" your topsoil).

After The Harvest

If you have followed this program without using any chemical fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide or
fungicide, your soil will be teeming with multiple trillions of beneficial microbial creatures.

Nature designed this microbiological soil community to support plants with all the macro and
micronutrients, enzymes, and life forms needed for strong healthy growth and flower. They also
help suppress the nasty biologicals that cause problems.

You provided the soil biology all the organic raw materials it needed to support maximum plant
growth and health. The top dressings and Compost Tea nourished this biology to a vibrant and
dynamic state.

Copy Nature’s pattern. DO NOT WASTE IT. REUSE AND BUILD ON IT.

Do Not Empty the pots or throw out the Super Soil. Leave them undisturbed to keep from
breaking up the Mycorrhizal Fungi Hyphae networks that have built up during the plant’s growth.
Intact Mycorrhizal Fungi networks will form a very beneficial symbiotic relationship with the new
Cannabis plant. Intact Mycorrhizal Hyphae networks are the super highways that feeds root
exudates to the soil biology and return nutrients back to the plant roots. Soil disturbances
destroy these networks. They will have to rebuild themselves.

The Mycorrhizal Fungi will not be able to support the plants as effectively if they are rebuilding
the hyphae network. New soil always has to start from scratch to build Mycorrhizal networks.

This is why undisturbed soils will continue to get better as they get older. Established, growing,
unbroken Mycorrhizal Hyphae networks are tremendously beneficial for the plant and soil
microbiology.

In nature, it takes years for Mycorrhizal networks to grow out and mature in undisturbed soil,
Tillage or soil disturbance destroys these delicate networks. Disturbed soils with minimal or no
mycorrhizal networks are dead. In these soils, plants will need Synthetic Chemicals to feed
them. Synthetic chemicals are an extremely inferior replacement for nature’s fertility program.
Replant Immediately With New Plants

One of Regenerative Agriculture’s foundational principles is keep a living root in the soil at all
times. As a rule, Regenerative Farmers are replanting the same ground while harvesting. In only
a few minutes behind the combine, the planter will be seeding the next crop. There is no
plowing or soil disturbance other than a shallow furrow slice for the new seed.

Just before you harvest, have your new plants ready to go into the pots. Right after harvest, pull
the old stem and roots gently from the soil. Try not to disturb it too much.

Better yet, if you are using big pots like 10 or 20 gallon, offset the plant toward one side of the
pot. Just cut the old stem off leaving the roots in place. Plant the new plant on another side of
the pot. There is no soil disturbance by pulling the old roots. The old roots have a lot of fertility
stored in them. They will decay and feed the soil’s microbiology. This is part of Nature’s
Recycling Program.

Immediately plug in the new plants. Top dress and drench the soil with full strength compost tea.
This will get your new plants off to a great start. The new plants will start taking advantage of the
soil biology built up during the previous grow.

You are following Nature’s pattern. She does not let bare ground sit empty. Once a plant goes
away, Nature immediately replaces it with a new one. Nature does not tolerate a broken
plant-microbiology system.

Nature also covers her soils with mulch and has earthworm working underneath it. A smart
grower will duplicate this to his advantage. Put worms in your pots and cover them with a high
carbon mulch like fine wood chips. Adding earthworms and mulching will do some amazing
things for your Super Soil. Earthworms are Nature’s soil cyclers. They move your surface
applied dressings deeper into the soil column and deposit them as castings. Castings are rich
food for the soil microbes and plants.

We hope that all makes sense! Use top dressings and compost teas along the way to maximize
plant potential and build healthy microbe populations. The whole idea is to keep the soil's
biological nutrient cycling systems running efficiently. When you do everything right, the soil will
pretty much maintain itself as a super system of biological activity and fertility. Super Soil
nurished by following Nature’s methods can keep running efficiently for many grow cycles.

The Last Ingredient: VITAMIN “L” (LOVE)

Love your plants like your own children. The plants respond very well to your positive energy. By
looking after them every day and meeting their needs with Holistic Organic-Regenerative
Practices, your plants will grow and give you their fullest potential. If you do these things, you
will learn and grow along with your plants. Moreover, your plants will reward you with excellent
yield and flavors.

Last point--- If you are angry or down, LEAVE YOUR PLANTS ALONE! Do not work with your
plants until you have recovered your positive, loving attitude.

They can sense the negative energy! It will make them “afraid” and set them back in growth and
productivity. Like children, they respond accordingly to the type of emotional energy they receive
from those taking care of them.
