“University Intramural Games 2022”

One of the most unforgettable event to a student’s life is the Intramural Games. This
year is the first celebration of the intramural since the occurrence of COVID-19.
Salingkusog is the theme for our intramural, it defines to transfer strength and as the
event goes by I can see students encouraging their friends by cheering and
supporting them in their game and that is an example of transferring strength. The
students look forward to this annual event because it allows them to take a short
break from their studies. On October 17, 18, and 19, the Intramural were held, each
team were given a time to prepare and train their member who will play in each
game. On the first day of the intramural, the school's staff and students assemble at
the upper oval to start the event. I'm overjoyed to see students enjoying themselves
as they create and capture memories. I joined field demo to feel the spirit of
intramural games and I’m not mistaken because through that activity I form bond and
memories by the people around me. I was in awe since it’s my first to experience
intramural as a college student, that night we didn’t expected to rain but the show
must go on and even it’s raining heavily we dance with all our hearts and enjoy the
performance. People from bleachers are cheering and shouting as we dance along
the rain, the performance was successful in the midst of some unexpected
occurrence. On the second day of the intramural games, sports are the next activity.
My roommate was part of the softball team and we decided to support her game, to
give her strength when she’s tired and to encourage her if things don’t go in her way,
we also watch volleyball and badminton. Sportsmanship should always be practiced
throughout sporting events. Provide some moral support to players who turn and
miss. Recognizing your team and sending season's greetings is always a nice
gesture and acceptance for everyone is one of the characteristics of a good athlete.
As a freshman, I’m aren't really given the opportunity to make friends earlier in the
semester, so in my opinion and based on my experience, intramural helps me to get
to know other people better and meet new friends. My inner resolve, as well as my
ability to work with others are also displayed during the events. It's beneficial to hold
an intramural each year because I got to observe a variety of events and discover
my friends' flamboyant hidden skills. In fact, it's the most eagerly anticipated
competition, where each team's members work hard to win. Intramural Games is a
great way to acquire numerous lessons and values. It encourages values in addition
to health and fitness. We learn values like teamwork, loyalty, cooperation, school
spirit, humility, and determination, among many others. I’m looking forward and
excited for the Intramural Games in the following year.
