Janitorial Checklist

Reception area and hallways


Walls spot cleaned (includes door moldings and underneath counter) Door handles disinfected Clean front entrance glass Any cobwebs removed Furniture wiped down and dusted, including sides, arm rests and feet Move magazines to wipe down furniture as necessary Coat racks, mirrors, TVs and other equipment dusted and wiped down dust picture frames Ledges, kickboards, heating registers wiped down Rugs vacuumed and spot cleaned Sanitize toys Procedure Wet and wipe down toys with solution made of one tablespoon bleach to gallon of water. Sweep and mop floors-remove rugs to do this Empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area

Break room area


Clean countertops-pull items forward to clean behind them Clean and disinfect sinks, shine chrome Wipe down backsplash, soap and paper towel dispensers Fill all dispensers Refrigerator front and sides wiped down Microwave cleaned inside and out Walls, door moldings and kickboards spot cleaned Wipe down door handles Outside of cabinets cleaned and polished Any furniture-table, chairs wiped down and dusted Cobwebs removed Floors swept and mopped-including behind doors and corners Empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area

Restrooms
Clean and sanitize using germicidal cleaners Sinks cleaned and disinfected Clean and polish all mirrors, chrome and light fixtures Clean and sanitize all toilets, inside and out and back Refill all soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers Empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area Clean walls, especially beside toilet and sink disinfect urine specimen holder if any Floors swept and mopped-including behind doors and corners Empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area Wipe down door handles

Office areas-including nurse area


disinfect all tables, counters and cabinet doors empty all trash baskets and replace liners-place trash in designated areas spot clean walls and carpets sweep, mop and/or vacuum floors depending on type of floor dust ceiling air vent returns if any wipe down registers, kick boards dust high and low all work stations wipe down electric cords dust all desks, chairs, moldings, sills, picture frames and other horizontal surfaces

Exam room
disinfect any telephones disinfect all furniture-chairs, couches disinfect and shine sink, countertops and cabinets-pull items forward to disinfect behind them disinfect cabinet surfaces and doors dust ceiling air vent returns if any dust blinds and blind cords clean windows, sills, registers, moldings etc spot clean walls and moldings refill soap, paper towel, Kleenex dispensers sanitize and disinfect exam table, top, sides, stirrups and foot rests and pumps, lift back paper to do this empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area wipe down door handles

Janitor closet/equipment
Keep janitor closet clean, swept and mopped Keep supplies orders Equipment such as mops, brooms and vacuums clean and neat, no mold smell Use correct formula when mixing concentrated cleaners.
