Recommendations:

I do yarn under then yarn over when crocheting this toy (semi-X stitches). If you do yarn
over both times (V stitches), then you will have to work shift stitches by yourself.
Hold tight tension to avoid holes forming.
All the pieces are crocheted in a spiral.
The finished toy measures about 26cm (10.2 inches) in case of using the materials listed.

Abbreviations:

MR - magic ring
ch - chain

1round: 5sc in MR (5)
Cut the thread, leaving a long thread tail for sewing.
-12-
Needle sculpting for face:

Make a needle sculpting, be guided with the photos. Take a long strong thread. In this
case I used the same thread, which was used for the doll crocheting. Insert the needle as
close to the eyes as possible.
The points 5 and 6 are located at the last round of the head, in the middle of front side.
Insert the needle into the point 5 and pull it out from the point 1. Then insert the needle
into the point 2 and pull it out from the point 6. Then make a needle sculpting for the
second eye. Insert the needle into the point 5 and pull it out from the point 3. Then
insert the needle into the point 4 and pull out from the point 6. Pull the thread ends very
carefully, trying to pull the eyes evenly and not so tightly. Tie a knot and weave in the
thread tails inside of the piece.

Details:

Make a white stitches around the eyes.

Embroider the eyelashes above the eyes using a black thread. Embroider the eyebrows
using a thread of brown color. Pull the white, the black and the brown threads out from
the head opening.
When all the details are embroidered, tie the thread ends into a knot and weave in the
thread tails inside of the head.

Embroider the nose.

Mark two points with pins, they are located between rounds 22 and 23 on the head, the
distance between them is 3 stitches. Make two stitches with the thread YarnArt Jeans
№ 05 (light beige) moving from one pin to the other pin.
Wind the thread around these stitches using a needle.

-14-
Details:

Sew the ears.

Mark 2 points with pins: the upper edge is located between rounds 19 and 20 on the
head; the lower edge is located between rounds 21 and 22. Count 8 stitches from the eye
edge. Sew the ears to the head.

-15-
Hair:

Wig.
Crochet with the thread YarnArt Baby cotton № 407 (brown).
Try the wig on the head as you go, it should fit closely to the head.
You may probably need to work more or less rounds, because we all have different
crochet density.

Details:

Hairstyle.
Put the wig on the head. Fix it with pins and sew. I sew it using “stitch-to-stitch”
method.
Let’s make bangs. Mark the point on the head where the bangs will start. I placed this
point between rounds 21 and 22 on the wig in the middle. Take a needle with a long
thread and start to embroider the bangs. At first move to one side, inserting the needle
into the wig base (see the photo). Make a pair of stitches in this way. Then pull the
needle out a little higher than the bangs base from the middle and make several stitches
more. Embroider the bangs on the other side in the same way.
When the bangs are finished, insert the needle into the middle of the front side and
make a pair of stitches covering the hairline (see the photo).
Weave in the thread tail inside of the head.

-17-
Details:

Take the bun, add fibrefill and fix on the head top with pins. My bun is located between
rounds 7 and 8 on the head. You can choose any other location.

Blushes.
Paint the cheeks and the nose slightly using a blusher or hard pastels.

-18-
Details:

Take a piece of wire with the length of 11 cm, wrap the ends with adhesive tape. At first
insert the wire into the doll’s body. Add the fibrefill into the body. The neck should be
firmly stuffed. Put the head on the neck, fix with pins. Sew it around.
Then pull the thread of black color through the middle point on the top border of the
dress using a needle. Cross the thread tails and tie a bow on the back side.

-19-
Pointe shoes:

Make two pieces, use the thread Alize Cotton Gold № 60 (black).

Make ch8, from the second ch from the hook:

1round: 6sc, 3sc into the last ch, along the other side of the chain 5sc, inc (16)
2round: inc, 5sc, 3inc, 5sc, 2inc (22)

8round: 11sc, 6dec, 11sc, sl st (28) - decreases should be located in the middle, work shift
stitches if needed.
Fasten off the thread, weave in the thread tail.
Prepare two pieces of satin ribbon, the length is 20 cm.
Sew them to the sides of the pointe shoes.
