Beowulf is an Old English epic poem that tells the story of a legendary hero named Beowulf.

The plot
revolves around Beowulf's heroic exploits and his battles against various monsters and adversaries.

The poem begins with the introduction of the Danish king, Hrothgar, whose kingdom is being terrorized
by a monster named Grendel. Grendel, a descendent of Cain, attacks the mead-hall of Heorot every
night, killing Hrothgar's warriors and spreading fear among the people. Hearing about this, Beowulf, a
warrior from Geatland (modern-day Sweden), decides to help Hrothgar and sails to Denmark with a
group of warriors.

Beowulf confronts Grendel in a fierce battle and manages to defeat him, tearing off his arm. The victory
brings relief to Hrothgar's kingdom, and Beowulf is hailed as a hero. However, the story doesn't end
there. Grendel's mother seeks revenge for her son's death and attacks Heorot in the night. Beowulf, now
the hero of the Danes, ventures into the underwater lair where Grendel's mother resides and engages in
a fierce battle. He eventually succeeds in killing her with a magical sword.

Years later, Beowulf becomes the king of Geatland and rules for many years. However, his kingdom is
once again threatened, this time by a dragon. Beowulf, now an old man, decides to face the dragon in
battle, accompanied by a young warrior named Wiglaf. Despite their bravery, Beowulf is mortally
wounded in the fight. He dies, leaving his kingdom in the hands of Wiglaf"Beowulf" is an epic poem that
