Rules & Regulations for Boys tournament

Team Registration
• Players born on or after 1st January 2007 will be eligible to take part in the tournament.

• All schools are requested to hand in the names of the 14 players along with their emirate id copies before their first
match.

Tournament Format

• The tournaments will be played on a knock-out basis.


➢ The matches will be of 15 overs per inning in the league stage.
➢ In the Semi Finals and Finals, each inning will be of 20 overs
➢ Each bowler can bowl a maximum of 3 overs in the league stage and 4 overs in knock-out stage.
➢ Each inning must be completed in 65 minutes in league stage and 85 minutes in knock-out stage.

Timings for league stage matches:


1st match: 1st inning – 8:30 am to 9:35 am
2nd inning – 9:45 am to 10:50 am

2nd match: 1st inning – 11:00 am to 12:05 pm


2nd inning – 12:15 pm to 1:20 pm

Timings for Semi Finals matches:


1st SF: 1st inning – 8:30 am to 9:55 am
2nd inning – 10:05 am to 11:25 am
2 SF: 1st inning – 11:30 am to 12:55 pm

2nd inning – 1:10 pm to 2:35 pm

➢ The winning team of each match will be awarded 2 points.


➢ If there is a tie in a league stage, the number of wickets lost will not be considered and both teams will be awarded 1
point each.
➢ At the end of the league matches, the top team from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
➢ If there is a tie in the points at the end of the league stage, the net run rate will decide the rank of the team in the
group. (Net run rate: batting average per over minus bowling average per over; any part of the over will be
considered as full over)
➢ If same number of runs are scored by both teams in a knock-out match, a super over will decide the winner. Each
team shall nominated 3 batsman and one bowler prior to the new toss. In case of tie again, then the winner will
eventually be decided by toss.
• If the match is delayed due to unavoidable circumstances, the umpires shall decide the length of each inning. The
number of overs a bowler can then bowl will be a fifth of the total number of overs decided by the umpires.
• The toss will be conducted 10 minutes before the commencement of the match.

Match Rules
➢ Fielding Restrictions: At all times during the course of the match four fielders must be inside the circle.
➢ Discretion to declare a ‘No Ball’ or ‘Wide Ball’ will be left to the officiating umpires only. In the best interest of the
game such decisions shall not be questioned by any player.
➢ In case there is a front foot no-ball bowled, a free hit will be awarded to the batting side and the field cannot be
changed for the same batsman. One run will be awarded to the batting side in addition to the free hit.
➢ Wides: In case of wide balls, one run will be added to the batting score and an extra ball will be bowled.
➢ Bouncers and Beamers: Bowlers are allowed to bowl only ONE bouncer per over.
➢ No runners will be allowed to the batting side. If a batsman is injured during the match he can retire and can come
later if his team wants.
➢ Water Breaks: Either team can request for a water break in the middle of the innings with the consent of the
umpire.

Turn Out
• Players will be required to play in white.
• A round neck t-shirt will not be allowed. It will be at the discretion of the umpire to ask a player to leave the playing
field if he is inappropriately dressed.
• Use of spiked shoes is not permitted on the playing field.

Umpires and Scorer


• Both teams are required to keep a substitute to write the score throughout the match and run the scoreboard. Any
complaints regarding the scores shall not be accepted.

Protective Gear
• All teams should bring their own protective gear.
• All batsmen are required to always use a helmet.
• The wicket keeper must use a helmet while standing up to the stumps

Cleanliness at the Stadium


• Both teams must work towards maintaining the appropriate cleanliness levels at the stadium throughout the match.

Fair Play
• All matches are to be played keeping in mind the spirit of the game.
• Activities such as sledging, criticizing the umpire etc. will not be accepted.
• Decision of the umpire and organizers will be final.
