    Language Literacy and Numeracy
    Focusing on the Science of
    Reading.
    Session Objectives
    recall the salient points in the conduct of
    Learning Action Cell (LAC) as per DepEd Order
    No. 35, s. 2016 at the school level;

    write a LAC plan for their respective schools


    for the rollout of the Early Language Literacy
    and Numeracy (ELLN) Focusing on the Science
    of Reading; and

    reflect on their own SLAC practices and how


    this activity may contribute to teachers’
    competence in teaching reading.

    identify the word/s or phrase/s that make/s the
    sentence incorrect and replace it with the correct

    1.The School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) serves as a


    professional learning community at the school level.
    2.The funding for a SLAC session may be sourced from
    school’s Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses
    (MOOE).
    3.One LAC could be composed of five to 25 members.
    Each LAC consist of a leader, a facilitator, a
    documenter, members, and a process observer.

    someone outside the organization who is expert on
    the topic.
    6.The Master Teacher in school shall serve as the LAC

    week for one to two hours.

    summer and mid-break.
