Zelenskiy says Ukraine ‘very close’ to achieving its NATO membership goal
KYIV (Reuters) – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that Ukraine was very close to achieving its goal of NATO membership despite the military alliance not offering a political invitation to join at a summit in Washington.
“We are very close to our goal,” he told a joint news conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Washington, adding that the next step would be an invitation followed by eventual membership.
