The Swinging Sixties are coming back… Well, swinging.

New images of the fifteenth Doctor have landed. The hotly anticipated next season of Doctor Who stars Ncuti Gatwa – the first Black Doctor – and he appears to have traveled to the Swinging Sixties, dressed in a delightful double-breasted pinstripe suit and silk tie, with the ’fro, sideburns, and mustache to match. By his side is his companion, Ruby, played by Millie Gibson, in a mod-style get-up: a high-waisted A-line miniskirt and boots, with matching black-and-white hoop earrings and Twiggy-style eyeliner. While, for the most part, the BBC is still keeping quiet on anything plot-related, at least we know to expect some fabulous period looks.

Before Ncuti starts as the Doctor, there will be three special episodes to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate in November. Then, the Sex Education alum will make his debut during the festive season alongside Teen Vogue 2023 Young Hollywood inductee Yasmin Finney, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jinkx Monsoon.

In a teaser trailer, Russell T Davies said that “if you thought the appearance of David Tennant was a shock, we’ve got plenty more surprises on the way. The path to Ncuti’s fifteenth Doctor is laden with mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger, and fun.” We have no doubt – in her British Vogue cover interview, Yasmin said the show will “change the world.” Buckle up.
