Wheel Of Fortune: Pat Sajak hands the reigns to Ryan Seacrest

Pat Sajak said goodbye to hosting Wheel of Fortune back in June after 43 years and 41 seasons as the face of the beloved gameshow.

The 77-year-old was extremely dedicated to the show, completing over 8,000 episodes according to NBC News.

He left for good on June 7, leaving American Idol host Ryan Seacrest to fill his shoes beginning in the fall.

But did he choose to go, or was he shown the door? Rumors suggest the latter.

According to The Mirror, Sajak was possibly 'eased out’ to bring in a younger face to the ABC hit show.

Known for his friendly demeanor, Sajak was adored by fans who appreciated his upbeat nature and sincere grin.

Even co-host Vanna White appeared to be solidly in Sajak's corner. It's hard to imagine the show's higher-ups wanting him gone, yet insiders suggest that might be exactly what happened.

Wheel of Fortune watchers will undoubtedly miss the affable host who made every spin of the iconic wheel memorable, even claiming they won't watch new host Seacrest fill the spot.
