A man who suffered life-altering injuries in a bizarre accident when a forklift fell on him from 50ft has revealed he "put someone else's poo inside himself."

Loren Schauers, a survivor of a horrific workplace accident in 2019 where a forklift he was operating fell off a bridge and landed on him, lost both his legs and half of his right arm. Despite this, he has amazed people with his brave determination not to let his injuries hinder his life, reports The Mirror US.

Loren, from Great Falls, Montana, along with his wife Sabia Reiche, now chronicle their daily lives on social media. Yesterday (June 7), they posted a 34-minute video on their YouTube channel.

Loren revealed he underwent a "gross" medical procedure while down in Kalispell, Montana.

"I got a faecal transplant," he said to the camera. "In dirty words, it's taking someone else's poop and putting it inside of yourself just to introduce some healthy gut bacteria."

"And the procedure went good, really simple. It only took an hour, nice and quick. They just went straight to the colostomy, they didn't have to open me up or anything."

His wife Sabia said they "tried to document some of the faecal transplant", but Loren was quick to explain why they did not.

"It's gross, you don't really want to see inside someone's colon," he said.

Earlier this year, Loren revealed details about his sex life, or lack thereof, in a revealing hospital bed interview. He shared that not having sexual organs has actually been somewhat liberating, as it's eliminated the "troublesome" distractions of a wandering eye.

"I'm not trying to impress anyone. I didn't even think about it but yeah it's pretty freeing now that I don't have sexual thoughts of this girl over here, or impressing that girl over there like before," Loren admitted. "I'm just me, I'm in my zone. It helps me stay out of trouble."

Sabia, who has been with Loren for years, has noticed a significant change. She observed that now, whether interacting with men or women, Loren is simply existing and socializing without any underlying sexual intent.

"Girl or guy you're just existing and talking to them and hanging out I've noticed that a lot. With my girlfriends in the past I've been like 'are you flirting?!" and now like they're just pals."

She elaborated on how the dynamic has shifted, saying, "Because obviously me who has been sexual with Loren for years, like I know when he is flirting you know and even like I've just noticed it like when he's just chilling with friends. It doesn't matter who, there's no sexual intent behind anything."

Sabia also reflected on the past, noting Loren's previous attraction to women and how his teenage hormones once influenced his behavior. She can see the stark contrast in how he now simply hangs out with people.
