Members of the Jewish community have voiced their disbelief over the killing of three women in Bushey, Hertfordshire.

Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Louise, 25 and Hannah, 28, were found dead at home on Tuesday evening.

Local Jews told the JC they were “shocked” by the news and described the Hunt family as “lovely”.

Hannah Hunt, 28, worked in the beauty industry with Jewish colleagues and is understood to have been in a relationship with a former JFS student.

Louise Hunt, 25, set up a dog-grooming business at the family home over lockdown and had a number of Jewish clients.

The family was part of the St James’ Church community on Bushey High Street, where a vigil took place on Thursday.

Carol, Hannah and Louise were the wife and two daughters of BBC and Sky racing broadcaster John Hunt.

Toby Marks, 33, took his dog Wilson to Louise for a grooming session on Thursday last week.

He described Louise as “a really nice girl, really sweet,” adding: “She was really good at what she did. She was a young girl who started her business over lockdown, and she was always busy. She was such a lovely person, I can’t believe this happened to her.”

Marks, a former JFS student from Bushey, said the death of the women had a significant impact on the local community. He said: “It’s just unimaginable. We still can’t believe what’s happened. Everyone knows someone who knows the family, it’s a real shock.”

Luisa, who attends the North Western Reform Synagogue, sent her dog Zola to Louise for around 3.5 years. She described Louise as “gentle, sweet, caring, so amazing,” adding: “She had such a calming influence, we would talk a lot.”

Luisa, who described racing commentator John Hunt as “the nicest man”, added: “The entire local community is shocked. Because of their jobs [the Hunt family] knew a lot of people. The entire community is in mourning.”

Kyle Clifford, 26 from Enfield, is suspected of carrying out the triple murder and was detained after a 24-hour manhunt.
