UPDATED:

For the second time this week, the St. Paul Saints’ home opener against the Iowa Cubs has been postponed for a day. The season’s first game at CHS Field is now set for 3:07 p.m. Thursday.

The home opener originally was scheduled to be played Tuesday night, then moved to Wednesday night. But this week’s cold, snowy weather in the Twin Cities changed all that.

Thursday’s game was moved to 3:07 p.m., up from 6:37 p.m., to take advantage of the sun and warmest temperatures of the day. Gates will open at 1:30 p.m.

The Saints and Cubs will now play a five-game series, through Sunday’s finale. The game postponed on Wednesday will be made up as part of a doubleheader when the I-Cubs return to CHS Field for a series from June 6-11.

The Saints are 2-1 this season after opening play in the Class AAA International League with a three-game series at Toledo last week.
