UPDATED:

Norman Quack’s Chophouse, a family-friendly American grill known particularly for its onion rings, has closed its Stillwater location.

The restaurant, with a distinctive large duck sign attached to the building, opened in early 2019 off U.S. 36 and Northwestern Avenue in the Valley Ridge Mall. The space was formerly home to Sweet Taste of Italy.

The closure seemed abrupt: A handwritten sign was posted on the door, and social media pages for the Stillwater location were deleted.

The restaurant’s original location is in Forest Lake and remains open.
