People in construction helmets and vests shovel dirt
Members of the Pedro family, from left, son Carl Pedro, daughter Mara Miletich and grandson Eli Miletich throw dirt during a groundbreaking ceremony for the future Pedro Park in downtown St. Paul on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Pedro Park was first envisioned as part of the Fitzgerald Park Precinct Plan adopted by the Saint Paul City Council as part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan in 2006. The property includes the former Pedro Luggage Center, donated to the city by the Pedro family in 2009, as well as the former Public Safety Annex Building demolished in 2023.
