A 26-year-old who drowned on July 13 in Lakeville has been identified as Reynaldo Antonio Patishtan Hernandez of Northfield.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeville Police and Fire departments responded to a reported drowning on Lake Marion at Antler’s Park in Lakeville around 5:30 p.m. last Saturday.
According to witnesses, a wave from a nearby boat caused two men to fall into the water and both were unable to swim. A bystander, who lives in Burnsville, entered the water and rescued a 19-year-old man, according to Dakota County authorities, but Hernandez submerged before he could be rescued.
At around 8 p.m., the sheriff’s office dive team located Hernandez roughly 40 yards offshore in eight feet of water. No alcohol is believed to be involved in the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
