Four finalists for Ramsey County manager will be interviewed during a public meeting with county commissioners at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the courthouse in St. Paul.

After County Manager Ryan O’Connor departed earlier this year to join the Metropolitan Council as the agency’s regional administrator, officials began a search for a new manager, with the effort being led by a national recruitment firm.

The county received 54 applications and chose four finalists for the county manager role. The finalists are:

  • Anthony Alongi, policy and planning manager with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
  • Ling Becker, director of Ramsey County Workforce Solutions.
  • Nikki Farago, deputy commissioner of agency culture and relations at the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
  • Jonathan Sage-Martinson, chief executive officer of the nonprofit Amplio Economic Development Corp. as well as the president/CEO of the Amplio Lending Corp.

“Ramsey County is the most diverse county in the state. We have driven a lot of transformative change during some very challenging years and yet, we know, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done,” County Board Chair Trista Martinson said in a statement. “The board is excited to meet the finalists and learn how they embody the county’s mission, vision and values and would drive us into our next chapter.”

Johanna Berg has been serving as the interim county manager.
