Another top Pittsburgh Pirates prospect took his turn in silencing the St. Paul Saints on Saturday night.

Thomas Harrington, the Pirates’ No. 5-ranked prospect, allowed just two hits and no runs over seven innings as the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Saints 3-0 at Victory Field, handing St. Paul its eighth straight loss.

Harrington threw just 63 pitches, 50 for strikes.

On Friday night, Pirates top prospect Bubba Chandler pitched five scoreless innings, striking out 11 and allowing five hits in the Indians’ 3-2 victory over the Saints.

The Saints didn’t have a batter reach base until the sixth inning and didn’t have a runner reach second base until the ninth. The eight straight losses make up the second-longest losing streak in franchise history.

Randy Dobnak was making his first start for the Saints since being optioned and pitched well. The Indians touched him for a run in the first inning on an infield single, two wild pitches and a run-scoring groundout. Dobnak allowed four hits over four innings, striking out six and walking two.

Rylan Bannon’s infield single to the left of the second baseman in the sixth broke up the perfect game.

The Saints finished with three hits, two by Yunior Severino.
