Here are all of the upcoming youth sports camps held by Angelo State University

Angelo State University is holding multiple community-focused youth sports camps open to the public over the summer for kids of all skill levels interested in football, soccer and volleyball from mid-July to early August.

Angelo State is open this summer to give kids from kindergarten to high school the opportunity to participate in individual and team-oriented sports summer camps at the universities' stadiums and athletic facilities.

Each camp is led by the Angelo State coaching staff and the athletic team offered by the university.

Soccer: Full Day Camp

The first team sport camp on the calendar is a full-day soccer camp from July 9-12. The camp for kids ages 6-15 will focus on developing players both technically and tactically, "Campers will practice proper techniques for shooting, passing, receiving, dribbling, defending and more," according to angelosoccercamps.com

Sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up will be at 4:30 p.m. Lunch is not included in the registration fee but will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Kids need to bring a soccer ball, soccer shoes and indoor soccer shoes or non-marking running shoes, sunscreen, a water bottle, shin guards, a pool towel and sandals or slippers.

Each day of the camp will end with a dip at the College Hills Pool from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Soccer: Elite Camp

The second soccer camp ASU offers will be an elite camp for girls in grades 8-12 from Aug. 3-4. The two-day, on-campus program focuses on introducing athletes to the experience of playing elite-level college soccer.

It provides college-level training sessions, coaching and player evaluation in a fun, competitive and positive environment held at the Texan Dorms and LeGrand Soccer Complex on Angelo State's campus.

Activities include a campus tour, a Q&A session with ASU players and field sessions with college-level training.

Volleyball: Varsity Positions Camp

The first volleyball camp held by ASU this summer will be the Varsity Positions Camp for girls grades 9-12 and will focus on position-specific skill training from July 12-13. The camp is geared toward individual athletes who already have strong fundamental skills but want to take the next step forward. The staff provides training for setters, hitters, liberos and defensive specialists. The location of the two-day camp will be at the Junell Center on Angelo State's Campus.

The setter camp is from 9 a.m. to noon, the hitter camp is from 1 to 4 p.m. and the defensive camp is from 6 to 9 p.m.

Volleyball: Team Competition Camp

The second volleyball camp is a team-focused camp where there will be basic offensive and defensive instruction followed by normal match play for junior varsity and varsity teams. The camp will be held at the Junell Center on July 26-27. Registration is open until July 24, with all teams in grades 9-12 eligible to participate.

Football: Little Ram Camp

Angelo State is hosting the Little Ram Camp for kids grades K-8 at LeGrand Stadium — 1st Community Credit Union Field on July 16-18. Camp starts at 8 a.m and lasts until noon on both days. The camp provides students with the opportunity to develop football skills with the ASU coaching staff present to instruct campers on drills, fundamentals and technique training for individual positions.

Athletes need to bring their workout shoes and cleats. Water will be provided and the Athletic training staff will be present for the entirety of camp. Registration is available online.
