Country Cooperation Strategy 2023–2027. Indonesia continuity and change

Indonesia’s global significance in the realm of public health is increasingly prominent. The nation’s dedicated focus on health, combined with its adept leadership in shaping the global health agenda during its G20 presidency, is commendable. Indonesia has achieved remarkable strides in promoting public health nationwide. This Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) will serve as a roadmap for WHO’s ongoing collaboration with the Government of Indonesia until 2027. The strategy is harmonized with the Ministry of Health’s Strategic Plan for 2020–2024, which has three primary objectives: (i) enhancing the resilience of the health-care system to address global health threats through prevention, detection and response capabilities; (ii) elevating community welfare; and (iii) enhancing the health and nutritional well-being of the Indonesian populace.

Crafted through an extensive consultation process involving governmental entities, UN agencies, and various public health partners, the CCS mirrors the priorities of the South-East Asia Region, the Thirteenth General Programme of Work (GPW13), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This strategic framework will steer WHO’s continued support for the Government of Indonesia, with a focus on attaining universal health coverage, build health system resilience, and amplify intersectoral health action to advance Health in All Policies. In unity, we will work towards sustainable advancements in the health and prosperity of all people in Indonesia.
