Other rights: Requests for other rights
To add a request for the confirmed, property creator, or rollbacker rights, please use the following form. Add it to the bottom of the relevant section. Unlike permissions such as bureaucrat, these can be assigned by administrators.
Administrators already have the rights of these groups, and do not need to be assigned any of them.

The "reason" is what will show up as a preloaded summary for administrators when they access Special:UserRights; it is also shown on this page. Do not add a section header or sign your message; these will both be done for you.

Hey there, I am requesting the confirmed right in order to replace outdated PNG images with a better quality SVG images as is recommended by wikimedia, wikipedia and I presume also by wikidata. I have made many hundreds of edits on both wikimedia, wikipedia and some on wikidata in various languages and have contributed significantly in the subject of heraldry. Why is it not considered the correct thing to do? It is standard practice on both Wikipedia and Wikimedia to replace poor quality and/or PNG images with better quality vector images. ProfAuthor (talk) 12:07, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ProfAuthor: Maybe I misunderstood. As I understand it you wanted to replace File:Arms of Leeds.svg with File:Coat of Arms of Leeds City Council.svg. I interpreted "superseded" as meaning that it was no longer the coat of arms and it had been replaced. We don't remove out-dated information on Wikidata. Instead we add new image and mark it as preferred. I was asking you that question to make sure you understood the content of Help:Ranking. BrokenSegue (talk) 23:06, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah that makes sense. The images used currently are correct but are of low quality and should be replaced with the better quality and more accurate vector images available. There are images on a few pages that need replacing with Leeds and Bradford being two prime examples. Hopefully that clears it up? ProfAuthor (talk) 23:11, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello dear admins, I would like to adjust the entry "model" (Q1979154). The german description does not fit. It restricts it to models of reality. A better translation would be "vereinfachtes Abbild eines Modelloriginals" (means simplified image of a model original). I started my contribution from April 2019 onward in Wikidata:Lexicographical_data/ta and Wikidata:Wikidata Lexeme Forms/Tamil Now i want to update and translate all the relevant Lexicographical_data in Tamil(Q5885) For this purpose i need "Confirmed users" rights with autopatrolled. in my SUL, see the wikidata section; the column 'Group' is empty. I think that the 'autopatrolled' conformation should come for bulk lexemes upload(bulk upload) Am i correct? or no need of that flag. Sorry for my confusion. Info-farmer (talk) 11:49, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for the rollbacker right

If you are not nominating yourself, please secure the acceptance of the candidate. The rollbacker flag is usually only granted to users who have some experience in fighting vandalism on Wikidata. For more information, please see Wikidata:Rollbackers.

While not required, {{subst:Rollbacker}} can be used to notify a user that they have been granted rollback. Rollbackers may wish to add {{Rollbacker userbox}} and/or {{Rollbacker topicon}} to their user or talk pages.


Requests for the property creator right

Please see Wikidata:Property creators for details.

Users may self-nominate, or nominate one another; however, users should not be given this right if they do not want it, and non-self-nomination requests should be put on hold until the nominee comments accepting the nomination.

Administrators may add the property creator flag to the accounts of users who:

  • are generally trusted members of the community, preferably with at least some history in working with properties, and
  • have shown a satisfactory understanding of how Wikidata works, especially regarding the property namespace, datatypes, and related concepts.

Users should generally not be made property creators solely or primarily based on their work on other projects; property creator is currently the only right unique to Wikidata, and this should be taken into consideration when requesting or granting it.

Property creator right must be only granted following a request on this page which must remain open for at least 48 hours. An exception may be made for the case of regranting of the right to former property creators and administrators where the reason for removal was uncontroversial or due to inactivity.

Property creators may wish to add {{User property creator}} to their userpages.
