Reply to "Bot edits should observe maxlag"
Hi, @ArthurPSmith. If I made 12 edits per minute, would it be okay?
Before I was doing 30 edits per minute.
You should not be doing any edits when the 'maxlag' value returned by the API is greater than 5. But 12 would be better than 30, yes.
Actually it's passed to the API - you need to add "&maxlag=5" to your API query, and it will return an error as described in the MediaWiki manual if that is exceeded.
Okay, for now my bot sleeps 10 seconds after every edit. I will try to change the code and add "&maxlag=5" to my API query as soon as possible. Is this okay?
Thanks for looking into it!
Thank you for letting me know ^_^
