Hi Nancy,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!

Nancy,

I wanted to suggest that you edit your tag(s) to show any surnames or locations that you're researching. Once you save your tags, you'll be able to click them and see a list of other WikiTree genealogists who are also researching those subjects. For surnames, there will be another tab on that page that shows you all of the profiles with that name.

You'll also get notifications in your daily & weekly emails when there is activity relevant to your tags.

You can read more about them on our Tags help page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags

I would recommend tags of HANAFEE AND TUROVH since these are the surnames you are researching.

Please let me know if you have any questions! :-) Emma

Once you adjust your tags, we will be able to confirm your volunteer status

Welcome to WikiTree!

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

You'll get an email from us that has helpful links to get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any other genealogy site out there.

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? Fill in the tags and comments on your profile to show what you're researching? and click the "Save Tag(s) and Volunteer" button, and one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!
