OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Creighton Athletics announced Monday that women’s basketball head coach Jim Flanery has agreed to a contract extension. The previous contract was set to expire after the end of the 2024-25 season. The terms of the extension are not being made available.

Flanery has been at the helm of the Bluejays squad for 22 seasons, accruing a 427-268 record -- including 12 seasons with 20 or more wins and seven NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by 2022′s Elite Eight run.

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to stay at Creighton and to work with such quality student-athletes and staff,” Flanery said. “I’d like to thank Marcus and Father Hendrickson for their continued faith in myself, this staff and the direction of the program. Anyone that knows me knows how integral Creighton is to my life. I look forward to continuing to lead the program.”

“I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to support Jim and his staff as we work to elevate this program,” said Athletic Director Marcus Blossom.

Before Flanery’s tenure, the program had 436 total wins and reached the NCAA Tournament three times.
