Carter Lake city attorney says investigation into council member is complete

CARTER LAKE, Iowa. (WOWT) - Drama erupted at Carter Lake’s city council meeting Monday night.

After multiple allegations of alleged harassment by city councilwoman Jackie Wahl toward employees, the city hired an outside law firm to investigate.

Monday night, the city attorney announced that the investigation is complete. However, the public won’t be privy to those findings. At least not yet.

He announced the investigation update was to be held in a closed meeting following the public city council meeting.

The crowd was not happy. Employees who made allegations requested to be part of the update but were denied.

The city attorney said possible action against the councilwoman could be at a special meeting or the next city council meeting.
