OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A cool morning across the Omaha metro to start the day with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. Thunderstorms rumbled across Kansas and Missouri during the early morning hours of Sunday sending a layer of clouds into our skies. However, all the rain stayed well to the south and we will see dry weather all day long, with plenty of sunshine on the way. Clouds will likely stick around through 9 or 10am, but will be thinning out throughout the morning. Blue skies and lots of sun is expected by the lunch hour, sticking around into the afternoon and evening. All of that sun will mean temperatures quickly climbing into the mid-70s by Noon, with afternoon highs in the lower 80s. The quiet, dry weather sticks around through the evening, temperatures in the 80s through sunset then dropping to around 70 by 10pm.

Monday will bring us another nice early summer day. Morning temperatures should start off a little on the cool side for this time of year, likely dipping into the low and mid-50s. Should be a nice morning to have the windows open for a bit. We should see plenty of sunshine once again, with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and low 80s for the afternoon hours.

A little more warmth and humidity can be expected on Tuesday with highs in the low to mid-80s. A cold front will try to push through during the midday hours and could kick off an isolated storm, but right now it looks like most of the area will stay dry. The cold front really won’t have an impact on our temperatures, as we continue to warm even more for Wednesday. Highs likely top out in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees on Wednesday. If we hit 90, that would be our first official 90 degree day for Omaha. If we don’t hit 90 Wednesday, we almost certainly will on Thursday as highs in the low to mid-90s are likely.

After a few quiet days, a more active weather pattern appears set to return by the end of the week. There could be an isolated storm Thursday, but better storm chances arrive on Friday, just in time for the College World Series. On and storm chances will continue into the weekend, likely continuing into early next week. Most of the storm chances appear to set up during the very late evening or overnight hours, hopefully falling after any world series games, but the timing is tough to nail down this far out. Outside of any storm, warm and humid weather can be expected with highs in the mid to upper 80s to around 90 degree each day. While no one day stands out in terms of severe weather, each round will have to be watched for the potential for some stronger storms.
