OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Yesterday saw temperatures reach 93 degrees for a high in Omaha and we look likely to end up in a similar spot today.

There is more mugginess in place, which will push the heat index to near 100 degrees in the afternoon.

Make sure you are taking precautions not to overexert yourself.

As we get near 4 PM, a front will sweep through the area and bring in less muggy air.

Along that front, a few thunderstorms may develop to the south of the metro.

For places such as Falls City and Rock Port, these storms could bring gusty winds and some hail after 4 PM.

Those will quickly sweep southeast and leave us with a quiet rest of the night.

Friday sees highs in the upper 80s with more comfortable humidity levels.

As the day goes on, cloud cover will increase and we will see the chance for spotty showers to develop after 3 PM.

Those chances increase as we head into the overnight with scattered thunderstorms becoming likely after midnight.

The chance for scattered thunderstorms holds through our Saturday.

Sunday starts with some lingering thundershowers but likely clears out for the afternoon.

Both days see highs that end up in the low 90s.

The hot and stormy pattern looks to hold as we head into next week.
