OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Preparing for an event like the College World Series takes a lot of effort and coordination.

It also requires being ready for anything, including weather.

Sporting Goods Outlet J.E.B. Enterprises, Inc. had tents set up at Omaha Baseball Village Wednesday night when the thunderstorm blew through.

Between the rain and the hail, they said their tent leaked in a couple spots, and a good amount of water was pooling on the ground.

“There was inches of water in different spots of the tent, so we had to use brooms to sweep it out in different areas,” said Jeff Fishman, who works sales for J.E.B. “Some shirts and boxes of our merchandise that we had previously received did get wet, so we had to move boxes, quickly scramble and grab any low-lying merchandise and get it off the floor.”

However, he said the storm really hurt them by delaying their trucks by a few hours, so they were up until around 2 a.m. Thursday.

He told 6 News that they finally got everything set up shortly before 3 p.m.

Fishman said they’ve done events like the Super Bowl, NFL Draft, and the Final Four, and that dealing with severe weather is nothing new. He said once in Kansas City, a storm blew their tent over entirely.
