Emily’s 6 First Alert Forecast - A few storm chances, hot and humid weekend
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The rest of Friday evening will be warm and muggy. Late tonight a round of storms moves in from the W and brings a risk for severe weather to the NW corner of the viewing area. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place there until 11PM. The main risks are hail and wind.

Storm chances will continue overnight, mainly N of the Metro. Chances for a storm or shower to drift S into the Metro increase after 1AM. Heavy rain will be possible to the N.

On Thursday heavy rain fell in SD and N IA river levels are running high on the Missouri. More rain is expected in the same locations tonight as well as the N edge of our viewing area... Totals could be heavy and this would increase the concern for flooding due to high river levels. There are 2 main points of concern along I-29, one near Blair and another near Nebraska City although flood watches are in place ALL along the Missouri though the viewing area.

The impacts are contingent on how much rain falls tonight and could last for several days as water moves downstream.

These storm chances dry up by 8AM Saturday... it’ll be hot and humid again with highs near 90 in the Metro and SE... Cooler to the W as a cold front tracks though. This will spark a chance for storms around 2-3PM. This line quickly drifts E and will be out of W Iowa by 7PM.
