OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Tuesday is another 6 First Alert Weather Day due to another day of intense heat. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 90s for many of us with heat index values getting as high as 110 degrees. That hot & muggy air may be a bit more stifling today because of the lack of a breeze too.

The heat today will also bring with it a chance of storms due to a cold front dropping in from the north. There likely won’t be many on the map in the evening but they are most likely to develop in our northern counties. A spotty chance develops after 6pm and they’ll gradually drift SSE into the warm and humid air. Hail and wind are the main threats but a tornado or two are possible as the storms form to the north.

Around 10PM to midnight we’ll see a more widespread storm threat with mainly a wind threat... behind this we will cool down and storm chances will end for the overnight hours.

That threat will likely be done by midnight or so then the rest of the night will be quiet and cooler as we settle back to near 70 degrees for a low. Highs will be cooler in the upper 80s Wednesday afternoon under sunny skies.
