OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - We’re starting the day with 60s and some sunshine as we dive into what should be a rather quiet day. The clouds will increase into the afternoon as we are able to warm into the mid 80s.

The muggy meter should hang out in the muggy range most of the day as we do that warming. Overall it shouldn’t be all that bad outside. During the overnight hours there is a 40% chance of a few showers and storms moving through but I don’t expect anything widespread until we get closer to Thursday morning.

Those chances of rain and storms will be there for the morning and early afternoon hours on the 4th of July. Mostly cloudy skies and random downpours will help to keep it cooler too with highs in the upper 70s likely at best. It will dry out for the evening though with temperatures falling through the 70s into the 60s by the time fireworks displays get rolling.

Mostly cloudy skies are likely a good part of the holiday weekend too with highs likely staying cooler because of that. A few showers or a couple storms are possible any day too. The best chance looks to be Saturday evening with a round of storm potential. While not a washout of a weekend, it will be cooler than average with quite a few clouds.
