OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha native Alec Bohm was named an MLB All-Star starter Wednesday, one of three Philadelphia Phillies that will start for the National League.

Bohm will make his first all-star appearance after receiving 70 percent of the fan vote for NL third baseman. Teammates Bryce Harper and Trea Turner were also named starters.

Hours after getting the all-star nod, Bohm launched a two-run home run in the Phillies 5-3 win over the Cubs in Chicago. The Roncalli Catholic grad leads the NL with 70 RBI this season.

The 2024 MLB All-Star Game takes place Tuesday, July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
